My dog Layla crossed the rainbow bridge yesterday. She passed away peacefully in my arms. She had been dealing with increasing dementia for a while and the last few months I was basically giving her hospice care. She was smart and fiercely independent (a cat in a chihuahua suit) but also loyal and warm. She was my Philly companion for over a decade who helped me through major life changes. She was small and she was my world. 🐕❤️
One of the many works of rotating art on view now at the Philadelphia International Airport is this mural by @anujink , titled “Sumud.” You can find it on the E/F Terminal Connector.
Philly people! I’ll be tabling at @phillyzinefest this Sat at Temple University’s Mitten Hall from 11am - 5pm. I’ll have copies of my new comic Last Sky, some older zines and some unearthed riso prints from @issuepress . If you’re in the area swing by and I’ll give you a free postcard and possibly a high five 🤚🏽
My latest comics zine, Last Sky, is now available through @issuepress . The book is a 40 pg risograph printed collection of quiet short form comics and illustration primarily reflecting on the experience of children living in conflict zones from Palestine to Afghanistan.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to @thesameerproject , providing crucial assistance to families in Gaza.
I did a tiny drawing of my first pet for the @newyorkermag 100th anniversary poster. A hundred illustrators participated and I’m honored to have contributed. Thanks @supriyakalidas for the invite!
