Directed by music video visionary Hype Williams, BELLY is a neon-soaked hip-hop noir that defined late-’90s style. Starring Nas and the late DMX as childhood friends navigating crime, faith, and ambition, the film trades conventional plotting for mood, image, and atmosphere. Shot by Malik Hassan Sayeed (Clockers, He Got Game), its iconic opening alone cemented its cult status. Initially misunderstood upon release, Belly has since earned renewed appreciation.
