Creative ideas can change lives. I truly believe that. It’s why I trained to do what I do. It’s also why I’ve been working every waking hour this week with an incredible non-profit in Toronto. In just 7 days, we managed to go from Toronto City Council ordering Ryan Donais, Founder of Tiny Tiny Homes, to stop building emergency shelters for the homeless and remove them from the city park, to the City Council now looking to engage in more productive conversations, and work with the organisation to help more vulnerable people impacted by Toronto’s homelessness emergency. The reactive ‘Show Some Love For Our Homeless’ public advocacy campaign, which asked the City Council to choose compassion over enforcement, created significant support on social media, with the story being covered by all major local and national media networks and publications, and over 27,000 signatures on change.org in less than 48 hours. It was no mean feat, and every second counted, but we hit our campaign goals and got the public support and immediate outcome we needed. Shout out and thank you again to @lozoz Laura Osborne for helping me with posters and social posts, to @conor.rand Conor Fitzgerald for his speedy legal counsel, and to Amelea Sutherland for pulling this all together, from putting up hearts and posters to manning the YouTube Channel. To sign the petition, head to change.org/tinytinyhomes To follow our progress, it’s @tinytinyhomestoronto on Instagram, @tinytinyhomes on TikTok, and @tinytinyhomes on YouTube. Shout out to the rest of the Tiny Tiny Homes team for having faith and backing this. I don’t have you all on here so let me know who else I need to tag @lyle.insurancegroup @bosslyle #ShowSomeLove #ForOurHomeless #Campaigns #CreativityForGood #TinyTinyHomes #HelpTheHomeless #PublicAdvocacy #PublicSupport #BehaviourChange #SystemsChange #SystemicChange #SystemsThinking #TheoryOfChange #Impact #ImpactCampaigns #Campaigner #Advocacy #Communications #CommunicationsConsultant #CampaignsConsultant

Soho reunion with bestie. Both got the outfit memo. Both equally offended over color-name.com’s skin analysis. Zoom in enough on pic 4 and you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a tiny tear in my eye, created in that exact moment, as I was trying to smile with a mouth full of dangerously hot tofu. Kind regards, Very Pale Orange 🍊

A message we received earlier, which makes all the late nights so so worth it: “We wanted to send you a quick message thanking you for all the work you’ve put into this campaign this year, telling trans stories of life, resilience and hope in such a dark political time. We as a community and as a world need these stories more than ever right now, and we in this brain are all so greatful for your work. Keep on telling trans history from all over the world - tell stories of trans people of global majority, disabled trans people etc. who made this world a better place. No matter what nasty comments some transphobe might put on your post, know you are doing the right thing and for every hateful comment, there is some closeted trans person out there who now knows they have a future because they have seen our community’s resilience and rich past. There’s a billboard right outside our flat which has had the Trans History Week campaign on it, and it has been such a wonderful thing to see as we walk to work, especially as we have been anxious about the Sennedd election, the EHRC guidance and the BMA’s Cass Review report this week. You have reminded us all that we’re not alone and that in the words of your own campaign - ‘like water, we will always find a way’. Thank you for making our days during what has been quite a difficult few weeks for us. Thank you, from all of us in this brain, for all you all do. Keep on telling our history, never forget how powerful our stories are, and most of all never give up. We’ll find a way through this just like our transcestors, and your work is a constant affirmation of that.” #translivesmatter #transhistoryweek

Back in London for a few days, and so glad I was around to attend @transhistoryweek ’s first event of the week last night. Brilliant to catch up with some of the @uncharted creative crew and see this year’s campaign creative presented by @marjoda , who as always, was an inspiring and motivating speaker. The audience also sat in on two live @wearequeeraf_ podcast recordings with guests including doctors, historians, queens, and the absolute legend that is @nadiaalmadatv from Big Brother! A truly insightful and uplifting evening with a room full of Trans+ history makers. Thank you to all the sponsors and volunteers who made this happen. #TransHistoryWeek #TransHistoryweek2026

Behind every campaign is a group of people who couldn't stay quiet. Meet ours. Somehow in the years and wins the campaign has made we’ve never actually introduced our team. From a whatsapp group and £50 to policy change, these are the hearts and minds that drive OJFA 💛

99% of Trans+ people believe UK media coverage negatively impacts their mental health. REFLECTIONS is a space to pause, slow down, and breathe. Set apart from the noise, this exhibition invites visitors to reflect together on Trans+ history, community, and change through words, water, and sound. It spotlights the voice and power of Trans+ communities across the UK. Each line is inspired by the words, experiences, and histories of Trans+ people, revealing how small acts of courage and care ripple outward, gathering into a shared force that continues to shape Trans+ lives and futures. Shaped by stories from Trans+ creatives and research with 100+ Trans+ perspectives, each headline connects with an article on the Trans+ History Week hub at QueerAF: /transhistoryweek/ This vital work features contributions from Alex Parmar-Yee, Ayesha Stephanides David, Gabriel Oak Baker, Jaime S.K. Starr, and Sophie Edwards. Visit Outernet London’s Now Trending space this weekend to see our installation on rotation. Screening until 10 May.
