Can’t figure out why instagram is making these so dark, ah well.
Westpac TVC earlier this year. Polaroids from on set. The 3D printing was all by the very talented @mr_noce (beautifully modelling his work in the second shot) I mostly did the fabric base garments and helped mount the armour pieces. Worn by the lovely and very patient Georgia Oom. All designed by Matt Stegh.
Costumes for Vodka Cruiser “Bold Choice” campaign. Third set of 6 costumes (out of three sets/18 costumes in total)
The most sewing of all the costumes! HOD @matt.stegh and @araks_nazarian patch worked all the fabric, then we all shared the burden of sewing, along with @eye.yarn and @adrien_tzouga21 , who also did most of the stuffing. When we all got covid @texturefemme came on board to sew and bind all the bodysuits off site so we could finish in time. Lifesaver!
Shout out to production designer and miracle worker @al_joel who designed and made the incredible set with fellow scenic superstars Em and Maddy. I don’t know how well it showed up in the Final Cut but this one was really impressive in person and made every photo look like an album cover.
Thanks to the talented team of dancers as choreographed by @maya_Sheridan_@holly_she_ils@feliciastav@moniquewaa@jervislivelo@dimitri.raptis@tanumi_official
Look how ridiculously hot they all look! And they were hot - that’s like 3 layers of Lycra and 3 pillows worth of stuffing each. The jackets were so sweaty they had to be rung out at the end of the day. Matt and I got a hell of a workout trying to force poor @dimitri.raptis feet into the straps on the inside of the boots, after which I was so sweaty I had to ring out my own goddamn shirt. Thankfully he was a good sport and not too grossed out by it.
Costumes for Vodka Cruiser “Bold Choice” campaign. Second set of 6 costumes (out of three sets/18 costumes in total) The set I had the most involvement with. I made all the hats, harnesses and pvc gear, (which is funny because it looks like it was bought from Temu) and majority of the garments, with @matt.stegh making the remainder. There wasn’t a lot of time so nothing was hemmed or made very well, but thankfully the dancers didn’t stop moving for long enough to notice any of that.
Thanks to HOD @matt.stegh , @araks_nazarian , and our incredible work experience makers @eye.yarn and @adrien_tzouga21
Shout out to production designer and miracle worker @al_joel who designed and made the beautiful sets with fellow scenic superstars Em and Maddy
Thanks of course to the talented team of dancers as choreographed by @maya_Sheridan_@holly_she_ils@feliciastav@moniquewaa@jervislivelo@dimitri.raptis@tanumi_official
Costumes for Vodka Cruiser “Bold Choice” social media campaign. First set of 6 costumes (out of three sets/18 costumes in total) This set was actually the one I had the least involvement in making, but very proud of my boss @matt.stegh and colleague @araks_nazarian for creating these. Thanks also to @eye.yarn and @adrien_tzouga21 who volunteered their time and skills to help with making and construction across all 3 sets of costumes.
This was a challenging job as everyone in the workroom got covid and worked through it because the incredibly tight turn around meant we wouldn’t get it across the line otherwise.
A big shout out to production legend @al_joel__ who designed and made the beautiful sets with the help of Em and Maddy, and with very few resources.
Thanks to the incredible dancers listed below, as choreographed by @maya_sheridan_@holly_she_ils@feliciastav@moniquewaaa@jervislivelo@dimitri.raptis@tanumi_official
The chaps were particularly challenging to work with, especially for Jervis sliding across the stage in a split and the end of each take, but they all made it look easy. Talented bastards.
“Get more frills with ALDI holidays” campaign: who wore it best? The suitcase. The suitcase wore it best.
Costumes designed by Matt Stegh, who cut and attached most of the frills which was majority of the labour, I just made the base garments and sneakily tried them on. I did attach most of the frills for the yellow cover up that looks like it’s from a Roger and Hammerstein’s musical. @designbybrendalam also came in to slam out the frilly denim shorts when we realised we’d bitten off more than we could frill.
Maybe I tried on the mum’s blue frilly swim suit. Maybe I didn’t. No pictures exist of it so you can’t prove anything.
“Get more frills with ALDI holidays” campaign. Designed my Matt Stegh (not so secretly papped in shot two - he doesn’t have social media, don’t tell him) There are several campaign images with different frilly looks but I mostly worked on this retro snow suit. Last picture before we covered it in frills.
Worn by absolute sweetheart @angelholley_ (a literal Snow Angel!)
Fairy Wings for the Optus “challenger” campaign, as worn by the very gracious Nick Bakopoulos-Cooke @cookiesdomain . Photos two and three on set of the socials shoot, taken by on-set angel and my favourite stingerette Verity @palmtreesfall who is evidently a much better BTS photographer than I am, as seen by my attempt to pap her in the last pic! Sometimes I’m lucky enough to get paid to hang out with incredible people. Thanks as always to costume designer Matt Stegh for bringing me on to make these last minute wings 💛🖤💛
Fairy wings for Optus Challenger campaign. Designed by Matt Stegh (his illustration is the second picture) to match the…. Definitely non-branded, legally unrecognisable style of shoe. I only had three days to make them, so they’re far from perfect but hey, they didn’t fall off 🤷♂️
The football costume we made for the Westpac + NRL commercial. It ended up being less than half a second in the final cut, but took @designbybrendalam and I a few days to make. Surprisingly, glittering the two giant Westpac logos was the longest part of the process.
Costumes designed by Matt Stegh :)
We worked so hard for two weeks straight… and we only made 8 dollars! *da-dum CHH* Some very quick turn around dollar coin costumes for a Westpac x NRL commercial. Thanks to Matt Stegh for heading the gig, but especially to Brenda Lam @designbybrendalam who consulted with the digital printing folks, did the fabric sourcing, all the overlocking and stretch undergarments, as well as battling it out in the Glue Tent with me (check us both out in our very sexy Personal Protective Equiptment!) l love you Brenda, you’re a life saver! Also the incredible Verity @palmtreesfall , as Matt couldn’t be on set when shooting times were changed last minute, Verity stepped the fuck up thank god and was the lead on-set standby genius and problem solver, after already buying and sourcing stuff for the coins and everything else the non coin civilians wore. She also makes for a very stunning and part time fit model! Look at those gams! (Sorry Verity sucked in I love you!) Also thanks to Justin Shoulder @phasmahammer for sorting out the graphics and prints! And of course all the dancers, who never complained despite not being able to see a thing while dancing down stairs. Legends!
Costumes Matt Stegh and I made for the Telstra Starlink Campaign. We didn’t do the headpieces/masks which were the very talented team @odd_studio thanks also to @texturefemme who helped stuff the puffer and @designbybrendalam who did a day helping with trimming/decorating the first dress. First, because they ended up needing doubles so I did the second sets on my own, which was challenging in the time frame. The costumes are supposed to be displayed in retail locations, let me know if you see them out in the wild!
Earlier this year I made a 20 metre long mega scarf out of wallabies scarves and other donated Wallabies paraphernalia. I did some live sewing at some rugby games in a purple Cadbury-sponsored portable studio, and the finished scarf was unfurled at the Bledisloe Cup. The scarf was supposed to go overseas with the wallabies and bring them luck for the World Cup but they got knocked out immediately. I am not that lucky it turns out.
Thanks to @texturefemme for coming in on the last day and helping hand sew some of the more difficult donated items on to get it over the line. A truly manic last day.
