our 20th anniversary quietly stayed in japan karuizawa within the nature.
i told jessie that i gave a title for the last photo in this album ‘shadows and us, never apart’. she laughed and speechless. 😀

‘i see mountains. they are mountains. 我看山。便是山。’ features mountains (from heart) of my daily encounters through out last 35 years. its about positive mindset and shifting perspective 正念 / 轉念 , to echo the fragile and uncertain world.
it has been showing in museums and galleries since 2022, cheng du, shenzhen, guangzhou, shanghai, hong kong, london and now back again in hong kong museum of art group show ‘live’ in a different presentation format which even more engaging. a very long show till 2027.05.

2025 is certainly not a peaceful or smooth year for the world, also hong kong…
along side, it has been an exceptional fruitful yet cultural year for myself when i looking back from my iphone calendar.

travelled for 4 solo shows, 7 new and 4 on going group shows, big and small, in hong kong, shenzhen, shanghai, milan, paris, london, guangzhou, macau and xiamen. also, will be featured in a big group show in hong kong coming march.
/
ran 4 extensive workshops and teaching, 13 talks and sharings. hk chinese university (arch), hk polyu (advertising), university of macau (communications), design summer academy (dsa25) in hangzhau, regular annual programs for chan art academy…
/
besides curated my own solo in 3812 london, also co-curated uncle kan’s retrospective in hangzhou, convinced frank leung and curated his first photo exhibition.

two judging on design and art including international graphic design show gdc in shenzhen (after judged for them 22 years ago)
/
screening my so far one and only ‘dance goes on’ documentary film in the education university of hong kong.

won 18 awards from hkda gda and hkdc design for asia awards.

thanks for all organisers, scholars, curators, collaborators, jessie and team, to make all happened.
moving ahead, i will focus the project to conclude my 50 years in the creative circles 2030. as i announced during my opening remarks in ‘time will tell’ show 2019, spend this ten years focusing on the issues: how technology affecting human’s relations. hopefully, it will include travelling shows (from 2027-30), books and movie(s)…
like my latest work ‘counting(on)hongkong / 84000’, wish us all heading, approaching a new year for our dreams and goals, in 84000 infinite ways…

As we approach “soul & social” — anothermountainman’s first art solo exhibition in London on Thursday, 20 November, we sincerely invite you to join our panel discussion at 5pm, followed by the cocktail reception at 6pm.
Entitled “Everyday Ecologies: Exploring the Visual Language of anothermountainman,” the discussion is led by Dr. Katie Hill (@katiehillocca ), Academic and Curatorial Advisor at 3812, and Maurizio Marinelli, Professor of China and Global Prosperity at University College London and specialist in Chinese Urban Space and Ecology. The artist will be present.
Stanley Wong, known as anothermountainman, is a celebrated cultural icon from Hong Kong. The panel discussion will offer a compelling exploration of Hong Kong’s urban fabric and cultural identity. His art transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, revealing how aesthetic and social perspectives intertwine in the making of contemporary visual ecologies.
