On Wednesday May 6th, A night of solo performances in Philadelphia at @amanfulloftrouble ’s @succession_fermentory taproom!
Michael Martin Doherty fronts the Philadelphia based group “Another Michael,” which has been active for over a decade. They’ve produced three albums for the Run for Cover label and toured extensively throughout the US and Canada. Michael currently uses his solo performances to repurpose old songs and test drive new ones. Sometimes pop, sometimes folk, sometimes improvised, always Michael.

Jake McKelvie has traveled the DIY touring circuit in the US and UK for over a decade, carving out a niche for himself as a songwriter and performer. Known for his off-kilter “stream of self-consciousness” lyricism, he sings his songs either as a solo performer or with his newly minted backing band, “the New Old Band”.

Macaulay Lerman is a maker of songs, poems, and pictures. Since 2018 he has recorded and performed under the moniker A Box of Stars. Macaulay writes with uncanny lucidity about life’s most precious moments. Beautiful, carefully rendered images abound. Simple things, like an old tire swing or the steam rising off a fresh loaf of bread, are captured with photographic accuracy acting as portals from the mundane to the divine. Also part of the emotional palette is foreboding, the general sense that everything we’ll ever know and love eventually fades to nothingness, and yet each intimate experience, whether it be a bike ride down Winooski or listening to a jukebox at the local greasy spoon, offers solace-quiet, bone-deep contentedness.
