Last Friday,
@skyhighforkids raised a record-shattering $3 million at Better in Boots in support of childhood cancer prevention, treatment, and research. It’s mind-boggling.
I listened to
@brittanyhfranklin share yesterday about the impact this night will have — on children, families, and entire communities. Hearing her reflection on it just reminds me of the audacity of the mission and the power of this accomplishment. Especially in a year where Sky High is making investments to become an even stronger organization. There’s a lot of focus (dare I say worry?) on how to do all of it AND still make the differences expected and needed.
But this night made such an asteroid-sized difference. And what I’ve come to appreciate more than anything is the people behind a night like this. The Sky High team, the Better in Boots committee, all volunteers, board members — the heart and work behind the scenes is what makes something like this possible. So much recognition and thanks. This achievement was just not an accident or coincidence.
And the donors that powered it. Whether you gave small, really big, or somewhere in between — your choice to give to Sky High equals treatment, research, hope, and support for families walking through the unimaginable. It’s the best possible use of money (imo).
For
@brittanyhfranklin , you are the magic that brings it all together. Watching you show up this night with energy, compassion, grit, and relentless fight for every cancer warrior is something Special. The expectations are always high and you always exceed them. You carry this mission with your whole heart and it makes all of us want to do more, give more, and be more. And also, makes all of us want to be an auctioneer. 💃🏼
My team and I are honored to play a small part through
@drybarshops_houston , styling hair for the committee, Sky High team, and warrior families.
Dang, that was fun - let’s do it again? I need to actually take more photos!
