The piece attempts to reflect on the commemoration practices of the ongoing war, as well as on the, previously dominating in the public space of Ukraine, Soviet commemorative practices and the narratives that they have spread and normalized, using commemoration as an ideological tool. A throwback to a beautiful July evening — photos from a GenComp performance at the TU Ambisonics Studio — a sweet conclusion to a course taught by the greatest and loveliest Anne Wellmer. It was a huge honor and pleasure to play and to spend time with this system. The piece I performed, “Saturn Return,” is finally online — you can listen to it on SoundCloud and Bandcamp. Enjoy. 🪐

Fear of Turning into Stone (2024) is a four-channel sound installation spread across two zones of The Grass Above Us exhibition. A fluid soundscape rises and recedes in slow, tidal waves, refusing to remain still. It’s not a soundtrack, nor merely an atmospheric backdrop — rather, it’s a dense, immersive substance, like deep-sea water or heavy air, that presses on the body and envelops the listener. Fear of Turning into Stone takes on the exhibition’s most somber role, invisibly transforming the gallery space and filling it with a thick sense of doubt. It’s one of several immaterial works presented within the exhibition, and we’re proud to share this brilliant piece by @annaivch Perhaps because of its shapeshifting nature, it entered into a striking dialogue with Grass by Myroslav Yahoda. Some visitors even say they felt chills as the soundscape thickened around Yahoda’s painting. __________ Страх перетворення на камінь (2024) — це чотириканальна звукова інсталяція, розміщена у двох зонах виставки «Трава понад нами». Плинний звуковий ландшафт з’являється і зникає хвилеподібно, відмовляючись залишатися сталим. Це не музичний супровід і не атмосферне тло, а щільна субстанція, яка, подібно воді на дні океану, тисне на тіла і повністю огортає слухачів. Страх перетворення на камінь виконує найпохмурішу роль на виставці, невидимо трансформуючи галерейний простір і наповнюючи його густим відчуттям сумніву. Це одна з кількох безтілесних робіт, представлених у межах «Трави понад нами», і ми пишаємося можливістю поділитися цим неймовірним твором @annaivch Можливо, завдяки своїй мінливій природі, робота вступила у виразний діалог із Травою Мирослава Ягоди. Деякі відвідувачі зізнаються, що відчували мурашки, коли звуковий ландшафт Анни згущувався навколо полотна Ягоди.
