Hello Brighton heads!
I'm super gassed to announce a NEW class at @southeastdance on Thursdays 7-8pm.
Join me for Explore Argentine Tango in this open-level class where technique meets play. Through movement awareness, improvisation and close listening to the body, you'll discover new ways of moving and connecting with the music, a partner, and yourself.
Drawing on Tango, Feldenkrais, and Contemporary Dance, this class develops ease, precision and a whole-body intelligence.

💫💫💫Leia Pilar 💫💫💫
Writing from the depths of a cozy maternal cave to share some news and photos of the tiny Queen Leia Pilar / Houdini (never seen a baby so adept at wiggling out of a swaddle)/ Thumbelina who joined the tribe on the 19th of August weighing a tiny yet mighty 5lb 6 💕
Where to begin? That life has changed irreconcilably, totally, inside out and upside down is an understatement! Am riding a wave that has blown me away and am so happy to begun a life time of bonding with her.
I’m feeling so held by my amazing family, friends and husband! @johnny__cass you never cease to amaze me by being the most incredible father and silliest human I have ever met. I love you so much.
Having a home birth was hands down the best decision we could have made and am so happy we got the birth we wanted, with food and salsa music as the sun came up. Thank-you @doulawithyoga for holding us so beautifully in this and also the holistic midwife tent at Glastonbury for connecting me to a world of doulas and women centered practitioners.
In spite of a difficult experience with the NHS through pregnancy, and being shocked at how disempowering towards women the system can be, the Sussex home birth team were amazing, thank-you. It is also not lost on me how I have won a postcode lottery, I can’t imagine what this journey must be like for the mamas out there birthing and raising their kids in precarious conditions. . Sudan, Gaza, Ukraine . . . What a difference a body of water makes and whilst the medicalization of birth in the UK is shocking (what message are we giving women?) I am eternally grateful for the attention and care I received.
Matrescence here we come . . .

In my 36th week of pregnancy, the precipice of becoming a new me I got be creative with my amazing friend @vikki_marie_page on the South Downs and beach.
The shoot felt an integral part of this rite of passage. There was something about the shift of identify as we danced and played around that felt honoured in this magic few hours, which were ceremoniously closed by an epic thunderstorm.
It's been close to ten months of shuffling sideways, squeezing onto the tube and navigating the world with an ever-expanding belly which was a very visual reminder of the incoming family member. I have loved being pregnant, connecting to a millennia of women in a modern world seemingly led by medical intervention of birthing women.
Instinct ran stronger than ever through this journey and I am so grateful for this time where I felt I re-found a wilder and more intuitive version of myself.
Shout to some of the wonder humans holding my hands in small and big ways through this chapter @kj3t@elixirdancefitness@doulawithyoga@labour_of_love_doula@kemibirthjoyjohnson@helensprints@johnny__cass
Thank-you Vikki for the shoot and holding this moment so beautifully ❤️
An 8 month full bellied and bodied Tango with my compa @pablocortazzo 🤰 immense #gratidão for all the amazing people I am blessed to be surrounded by and of course to Tango- a never ending conversation with my practice which has bought travel, magicians, a home in most cities and wonderful collaborators and students whom I learn so much from. Can’t wait to get back. #tango #tanguera #soudessas
Some shots from the 2024-2025 Latinx Youth Theatre edition "Out of Frame" at Brixton House.
So much joy and hard work behind these photos!!!! Stanislavski said that unless Theatre can ennoble you, make you a better person then you should run from it.
Here is why I never run! This group has community, positive change, connection, heart and love at its core and I am so proud to be a part.
Thank-you LYT team, @brxhousetheatre House, @aceagrams and of course the Latin community. Watch this space for the 2025-26 edition....
