acid in the shell, 2025 The creeping acidification of the seas is an invisible but profound transformation that threatens organic life. The blue mussel, whose byssus threads dissolve due to the increasing acidity in the water, becomes a symbol of this change. During the exhibition, a mussel dissolves in the water every day - a silent but haunting gesture of disappearance. What remains is a trace of skin, an imprint of transience that makes the connection between humans and water tangible. 02/06/2025 - 02/07/2025 - 02/08/2025 - 02/09/2025 - 02/10/2025 - 02/11/2025 acid in the shell, 2025 is a poetic reflection on the physicality of water and its ecological fragility. The work draws with traces of water and shows embedded, intertwined, interconnected bodies on large fabric sheets that hang freely in space: the connection between water and humans, which Astrida Neimanis describes as an existential question in her book Bodies of Water (2017). Water shapes us, but what traces do we leave behind in return? we meet drowning, 2024/25 220 cm x 135 cm water, graphite, silver sumi and ash on indigo-dyed fabric #bluemussels #mussel @annaagrebner

The exhibition brings together the practices of the invited artists, whose works traverse the liquid as material, metaphor, emotional element, vital force, nourishment, and existential condition. The works converse like interconnected currents, generating an archive of fluidity in its many forms, where corporeality, memory, and science intertwine. roots of the hidden grass 2023/26 & uncertain heart 2023/26 are titles of a small paper collages series of ink drawings, sketches and paper researches I did during my time at Okinawa (2023/24). I focused on indigo - the Ryuukyuu Ai #琉球藍, studied plants and learned about Nihonga - Japanese painting techniques. Moments of being lost in translation gifted me with some poetic lines. The works around roots of the hidden grass 2023/26 & uncertain heart 2023/26 are soft dances of reinstalling materials that already lost their purposes. Meaningful words can become meaningless over time. Meaningless notes can weight heavy after years passing. Purpose and value can change within someone’s perspective & if we can share viewpoints in between each other’s. Being able to set my feet on beaches full of coral skeletons did changed me and its sound went straight into my bones and uncertain heart. roots of the hidden grass 2023/26 32,5 cm x 32,5 cm Japanese paper, indigo ink, Washi paper, metal uncertain heart 2023/26 32,5 cm x 32,5 cm Japanese paper, indigo ink, キラキラ mica pigment, Washi paper, metal

Fotocredits: Verena Haegler #wasser #muschel #säure #umwelt #ecocultere #acid #shell #water

things are slowly developing with their own pace🌱and everyone is taking the time they need within each process Thank you @jvliaburek for sharing your timeline with me during our project and exhibiting re:figuration. We called and met, talked and shared thoughts in Meiningen, Milano and Munich I almost forgot to take the soil when we visited #Meiningen for the first time together in April. “Don’t forget your soil!” right next to the small river- this still runs in my ears the dark brown powder took part in some paintings together with #Trudee - my indigo pigment💧 The exhibition re:figuration is displayed until 29.06 - 21.09.2025 @galerie_ada_meiningen Thank you @jvliaburek for this lasting experience working with you💕 and thanks to @federicodelfrati + #Berta, Lisa & @miriam.haltmeier for your amazing support. And the sparkling @elisabreyer3000 for your wonderful speech and our trip to Milano with Essiggurken am Comer See🧚🧚 recapturing some passages the biggest joy of making my own pigments is the process of slowing down and the idea of creating my own measurements of values. There is no chance of recalling something, we are constantly moving into the next and the slight chance of not missing out is by floating and accepting your own time

The past few weeks I shared my life with an indigo vat named #Trudee. Usually you could say hosted but it felt like co-existing with her during days covered with blue. Trudee (Gertrude/Trudy), a german nickname for a strong personality- & she was a fighter here in this very cold rainy german May weather. Thank you #Trudee for covering my hands in blue and the constant joy and excitement every morning before checking on you. With you I felt like #Lazzarofelitce - I smelled the rain, listened to the sun and dyed within your timeline whenever you were ready to~ Everything else fell aside and time flew slower. Thank you @philiphuangnyc for being such an amazing indigo teacher with all the patience and morning updates on #Trudee 🧞‍♂️ and Big thanks you and @chomchomw for letting me taking care of your Thai-German baby #Trudee . Also I want to thank @bettysbeautifullife for her indigo passion and knowledge and inspiration and @je_m_appelle_ilo for our indigotastic #Inselträumen Bis bald, #Trudee - enjoy going back to the land🌱

When I started my studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich in 2019/20 I was looking for bodies and movement, grabbing and holding, pushing and touching, falling and feeling. My search continued for the past five years and I am very happy that the title embodied soma 2020-2025 also accompanied me until today. Big scaled drawings of embodied bodies on free hanging fabric sheets finalized in a search with water for shapes that dissolves with us. embodied soma, 2024/25 205 cm x 140 cm water, graphite, graphite-pigment and silver on pretreated (earth & bones) fabric Have a look today and tomorrow from 2pm - 8pm at: Akademie der Bildenden Künste Akademiestraße 2-4, München Raum A.01.05
