Thrilled to be part of the Mass Sculpture course, takes my mind off things as I gradually get better. Part of Snag 2, a group exhibition at the Safe House, @maverickprojects in Peckham. The coloured piece still a WIP. @mass.sculpture #waxsculpture #papiermache #safehouse #mass
‘A painting doesn’t become a painting because it conforms to rules of what a painting should be…but because the ‘thought’ or ‘understanding’ has happened’. Me quoting The Guardian quoting my dad. Wonderful article by Skye Sherwin to coincide with the opening @halesgallery about my father’s time as artist in residence @nationalgallery many years ago. Plus a picture of the very crowded opening! It’s been fascinating doing research into this show, reading dad’s letters (all of which he photocopied) and diary excerpts and looking at the works at the NG by Bellini, Patinier, Giovanni di Paolo etc. @john.talbot7@_nicolatogneri kenkiff #kiff #kiffnationalgallery
I’ve been a rather unwilling recluse over the last few months due to not being well and my first time out socialising since the summer was, of course, to see some rather incredible art with my friend Demitra. Tracey Emin’s ‘I followed you till the end’ @whitecube Finishing this weekend. @traceyeminstudio
I’m pleased to announce that my father is in a group exhibition @townergallery opening October 4th. Named ‘Drawing the Unspeakable’ and curated by @lizadimbleby and her father David Dimbleby, it’s got a range of incredible artists and I suspect it’s going to be an incredible show! Seen here, Sun Above Houses and Shadowy Dog. @halesgallery #drawingtheunspeakable #kenkiff #kiff
ANNOUNCING REPRESENTATION
The Estate of Ken Kiff is delighted to announce that it is now represented by Hales. Kiff’s work will be featured at Hales’ upcoming art fair showcases in 2024, and his first solo show with Hales will open in April 2025 at the gallery’s London location.
Since its formation, Hales has formed an important environment for the development and distribution of artworks and ideas. At the core of the gallery’s principles is the fostering of emerging talents alongside historically significant figures. We are honoured to be working with this fantastic team to give Ken’s work and reputation the platform he deserves.

It was great to see Carole Gibbons’s new show @halesgallery last night, ‘Of Silence and Slow Time’. I also had some great chats with her son, Henry Gibbons, about looking after one’s parent’s art work, I don’t meet many people in such a similar situation as myself and he’s done an amazing job.. #carolegibbons #hales @hgibbonsguy
Flowers in a Forest Hill florist. Astonishingly no filters. Very Dutch Masters. But brighter. Plus all the flowers are local, SE London has done good. @yolandachiaramello
Day trip to Paris. If I’m going to be talking/writing about colour in relation to my father at some point then seeing Rothko’s show is pretty essential. The photos don’t do the work justice. I love that when in-front of the paintings, the pigments come so alive it’s just kind of crazy. Self portrait and early work at the end. @dailyrothko@fondationlv #rothko #fondationvuitton
