“Love you, moon” premieres tomorrow, on the full supermoon!!! It’s been a joy to engage with @anna_bauer151 and @jairuscarr through our Site-Specific Sponsorship program, of which they are the first awardees, and @alexgabriellepruitt and I are so proud of what they have dreamed up. This show features incredible dancers @egg.t.h.o.t @acapareda @kelsey___oliver and @lisapizzatx (plus Anna Bauer herself), a unique venue sponsored by the always-advocate Jonathan Beall (@sertodo_copper ), and engaging, surprising choreography crafted with so much care. Don’t miss it! This is a two week run, but there are limited seats each night, so don’t snooze on snagging your tickets. Link in bio. @blipswitch presents “Love you, moon” by Anna Bauer & Jairus Carr November 5-8 + 12-15 8:00PM (doors 7:30PM) Tickets Sliding Scale $25+ “When I look at the moon, I feel that I’m seeing something important. Staring up at this vast, impersonal rock up in the sky (more of a concept than a physical object if I’m being honest), I feel that I might love it, and it might even love me in return. There’s a sort of unreal, fantastical relationship between us, the moon and I. You might even say it’s romance. Our first evening-length work, Love you, moon, is not really about the moon, but it is about the feeling it gives us. The fantasy, the specter, the socialized ideal of romance and what it looks like. Being loved, cared for, held by soft and beautiful light in the night. It’s also about honesty, or an attempt at it– how awkward it is to actually love people platonically, intimately, domestically, and yes, romantically. And Love you, moon is also just a 50 minute dance that explores intimacy in partnering, in gesture, in eye contact, in big physical phrasework, in slow gentle leanings-on-each-other. Ultimately, this work is about whatever you want it to be about, as most things are. As the moon is. It’s so far away anyways, what’s the harm in fantasy?” - Anna & Jairus This work has been made possible through BLiPSWiTCH’s Site-Specific Sponsorship program.

She holds a BFA in Dance from Sam Houston State University and currently dances for the KDH Dance Company and Allysen Hooks Projects. She often collaborates with fellow Austin artist Jairus Carr. She has attended residencies with Keshet Makers Space Experience, WhirlWind Dance Company, Homeport Art House, Bellingham Repertory Dance, and Agora Artists. In 2025, she and Jairus Carr produced their first show (and fundraiser) Everything We’ve Done So Far, a 30-minute combination of all of their past duets together. Anna also does other non-dance-related things, but you can ask her about those in person. Everything We’ve Done So Far T-SHIRT SALE HIGHLIGHT This is our final highlight for the upcoming fundraiser, and with good timing since the show is in ONE WEEK!! Designed by friend and wonderful artist Iris Goetsch @irislgoetsch , the t-shirt print shows two figures facing a storm and holding a lamp and an umbrella. The back of shirt features a moving box “this side up” symbol with Iris’ initials in the corner. The two of us helped Iris print all of these by hand via block print. About the artist: Iris Goetsch has many great loves, and visual storytelling may be the most important one. Since rediscovering that passion late last year, Iris has produced a significant body of work including an ongoing catalog of evocative solo-produced picture books with the intent of offering a physical collection to an all-age audience in the coming years. She hopes that viewers of any of her work will come away with a sense of hope, often irreverence, and always honesty. These shirts will be sold at our upcoming show. August 1st 7:30pm August 2nd 5pm & 7:30pm Located at Cafe Dance @cafedance Fundraiser for fall show produced by @blipswitch All proceeds to artists Hope to see y’all there :)))
