Austin dance favorite Alexa Capareda’s pas de deux Cautery, a world premiere to be performed by Alyssa Manguiat and Arnaldo Hernandez.
“My idea for CAUTERY germinated from a place of personal suffering and chronic illness, and a desire to eviscerate pain, even as it is deeply tied to being human. I was also visually influenced by the twisted body shapes characteristic of the paintings of Austrian Expressionist Egon Schiele.”
