I L L B E H A V I O U R, an anomaly in the habits of the well and able; an act of de-habituation towards the rhythms and signals that the body sends. With XUE, Anise/Hee Suhui delves into qualia, embodied and disembodied states and the internal experience, experimenting with auscultations and the body uncanny. I L L B E H A V I O U R deconstructs the intimate act of listening in on our own bodies and translates that into an audiovisual performance. Probably my most intimate work to date and the culmination of months of work on sound, movement and space alongside luminaries and the amazing @111xue111 . To friends and family that gamely let me record their bodies: your beautifully sonorous sound bodies accompanied me through late nights in the studio, I was never alone. Thank you for the music and see you all very soon! — Ill Behavior January 20, 2024 @scapesg Ground Theatre First Show: 3:30PM – 4:30PM (with post-show talk) Second: 8:30PM – 9:30PM A body running from itself, beside itself, outside itself, inside itself, performing itself. ILL BEHAVIOUR is the co-devising hybrid experiment between body materia, sound and movement. An interdisciplinary performance exploring the abject and corporeal experience of a body turned inside out. ILL BEHAVIOUR plays with qualia, the collective clinical, and questions the shape of bodily memories. An exploration into auscultations and the body uncanny, ILL BEHAVIOUR deconstructs the intimate act of listening in on our own bodies and translates that into an audio-visual performance. Delve into four distinct voices in Singapore’s experimental underground: Anise (@anise___ ) » an unruly body blending experimental chamber electronica, guitar and luminescent vox b-l duo (@bwlypd ) » the creepiest & craziest keyboard explorations, dismantling lines between art music and noise through extended techniques and spatial play Gazelle ( @napalm.life ) » new and aggressive guitar concepts devised through years working under the DIY ethos. Leng Seong (@leng_seong ) » deliberate misdirection, weaving hip-hop drive with shifting electronic textures and cultural fragments 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘣𝘦𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘚𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘨𝘶𝘳𝘨𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘦𝘺𝘴, 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘴𝘺𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘴 𝘕𝘰𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘞𝘦 𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘭 𝘪𝘯 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳, 𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 BlackKaji. Suhui Hee 徐苏慧 listens inward to the unruly body. Under the moniker Anise, her sonic world moves between the beautiful and the grotesque. Field recordings, bodily acoustics, and live processing form entropic soundscapes that resist resolution, where listening becomes both an intimate act and a confrontation. Anise will be joined by @bwlypd , @leng_seong & @napalm.life (Gazalle) at BlackKaji. 29 April 2026 at Black Axis, Goodman Arts Centre (Block L, #01-48) Doors 7.30 PM, show starts at 8 PM Tickets are $25 (advanced), $30 (door) Link in bio Credits: Photo: Nydia Shiang @nydthakid Video: Jo Ho @chilisweetie

What inspires #SALONnotforcuttinghair session 7’s featured artist Suhui Hee (Anise)? The evening was inspired by her 2025 work body scores, series of intimate listening propositions that reorientate attention inwards and between bodies, participants were invited to go inwards and listen to their bodies. In Su’s words, “I think the thing I chase with these workshops and demonstrations is a miniscule tear in the fabric of our quotidian realities, all of the exercises have semblance of that.” Swipe left to check out some highlights, along with gems overheard during the session: 1: Welcome to our first 𝘚𝘈𝘓𝘖𝘕 session of 2026! 2: Each score invites performer or participant to listen through skin, cartilage, airways, etc. 3-4: the first body score in action: listening to the deep vibrations in the body: the slow creaking of finger joints, skin shifting against itself… 5-6: Su guiding participants through the second bodyscore: I hold the sea, the sea holds me 7: “the low rumbling of a plane cruising”, “fireworks”, “an organic cacophony of high-low frequencies”: prticipants sharing what they heard in their own bodies! 8: Suhui demostrating a different activity from a past artist-residency where participants’ heartbeats were captured using a bass amp and her macgyvered stethoscope 9: Post-experience conversations and sharings 10-11: Overheard at 𝘚𝘈𝘓𝘖𝘕 👀👀👀 《(不是美容)沙龙》第七场活动中登场的艺术工作者——苏慧的创作灵感来自哪里? 苏慧带领大家进行第二个练习:“ I hold the sea, the sea holds me” 7. 参与者分享他们在身体里听见的声音:“低空飞行的飞机轰鸣”、“烟火声”、“一种有机的高低频混杂声响” 8. 苏慧示范她在过去艺术驻场中的另一项实验:用低音音箱与她自制的听诊器装置,“收集”参与者的心跳。 9. 体验后的交流与分享 10~11. 活动中的一些精妙的言辞 👀👀👀

@an.atomie has created an oil painting the bardo for our upcoming performance Cosmic Garden, with the Singapore Butoh Collective, choreographed by Agatsuma Emiko @emiko.agatsuma . The artwork will be printed on postcards and shared with audiences during the performances on 24 and 25 January. Thank you, Suhui, for this quiet labour of love for the collective — for holding the hands of our members within the image, and for honouring the presence of our dear friend Irving Paul Pereira @irvingpaulpereira . His spirit and memory continue to move through our bodies and this work, and we carry him with us into the garden. 🔊sound on my body a canvas of small pains (2025) by @kirrikirrikirri @jawnchan and I Recorded at Hi-Viz Satellites @chamber.made @sathecollective and presented at Vector #6 by @dancenucleus & @esplanadesingapore Tactile transducers, quad speakers, screenprinted sheets, bed, various sound equipment Violins & Sound Design Kirri Büchler & Hee Suhui Lived Experience & Written Score Jawn Chan Interactive Installation & Concept Hee Suhui Thanks to Tim & Ning & Syaf for helping out! ———————————————— A collaborative installation based on a score co-written with a friend about the experience of living with eczema: the itch, the friction, the skin a canvas of small pains. The score was interpreted by Kirri Büchler, a violinist and fellow sound artist with eczema. The audience lies on a bed rigged with small speakers and tactile transducers to translate his isolated experience into something the audience can inhabit and commiserate in in a sonic and tactile way. my body a canvas of small pains listens to the (ill) body not as broken, but as composition; fragile, volatile, and alive. At the heart of it - how do we listen to someone else’s pain?

My favourite snaps from Ill Behaviour are from Edinburgh Fringe by @thatzanelee featuring the cuties behind the show Bonus footage of @111xue111 pasting our stars from reviewers on IB posters and weather warnings of strong gusts in Edinburgh I’m just slowly processing what’s been happening the past couple of months and trying to breathe into a slightly slower rhythm.
