Nataal exclusive: Anil Padia launches Yoshita 1967 (
@yoshita1967 ) at PFW with a sensorial journey through his Indo-Kenyan heritage.
The debut collection, ‘Temple Road’, has been handmade by his team of artisans in Nairobi and invites us to dance into the highlands of central Kenya with a series of crochet looks embellished with delicate mirror and silver bell adornments.
“The brand unifies the unheard voices of the women in my life and the censured stories in my lineage. It is a liberation of our collective karma. It is me coming home to myself,” Padia says. “Between the triangle of Nairobi, Mumbai/Delhi and Paris, Yoshita 1967 will continue to celebrate the interconnectedness of these cultures.”
