E.XPRESSION at the beginning of the year I was able to join a Rika residency by @ticah.ke (RIKA2025:GENERATION AND MEMORY )and got the chance to meet some amazing artist from across different backgrounds I was inspired but at the beginning I was scared as hell ,being a movement artist /dancer sometimes in different spaces people view it as a less craft but here I felt at home I found a space to express my self and had a chance to collaborate with one and only @jimchuchu as the Gardeners we had different strands (Gardeners,Griots,Tricksters and wanderers) and the amazing @sherie_margaret_ngigi on a photography series that ended up being the cover photo of the Rika 2025 magazine with a touch of @akili.huru on the making of the magazine from the color to the design sema kutesa,had a opening night performance with my G @vince_odhis and managed to do a Dance/Movement workshop which was amazing ,the end we had an exhibition that went for 3weeks #movement #Artist #Contemporarydance #rika25 #LoveArtbeArt
E.XPRESSION Keep Smiling is a commentary on the social issues that we are bombarded with; religion, poverty, relationships, lifestyle etc, and participate in without choice. Society now is such that we are born into well-established systems and the child is controlled from birth and placed within societal paradigms. This compels one to conform or be ostracized.
