A story about ADHD, self acceptance and creativity. This project is all about how the first step to loving your work is learning to love yourself. The first five episodes are out now and feature clips and conversations with friends, family and an expert or two! If you’ve already been following along, we’d love to hear how this is hitting you and if you’ve got something from it, this series trailer was made as an easy way to share the series with friends. If you too believe self love is the best path forward, help us spread the word :) Co-written, produced and edited by Sophie Miller AKA @thethreadhouse , music by @yoniwolf / @whywithaqmark and audio editing by @connerjones #adhd #creativity #selflove #podcast

I want to pause and acknowledge a life long dream coming true 😭😊🙌👏🎊Here is the @iseeinvisiblethings picture book by me and my wife @thethreadhouse - published by @chroniclebooks :) The first picture book I have an author credit for. It’s been a long journey but so worth it!!!!! I can’t wait for you to hold it and see: - THE INVISIBLE! ;) - the shiny bubbly lettering on the jacket! - the matte paper that feels and looks like the collage-y chalky gouache I painted it in! - the LOVE, FUN and HEART Sophie and I put into every word and page :) Some of my favorite lines from early reviews so far: “Make sure you see this playful, wise title.” - @kirkus_reviews “Pizza and Miller aim to help readers “SEE THE INVISIBLE” in a picture book that doubles as a body-scan meditation.” @publisherswkly Massive thanks to our wonderful editor @rellamermaid and our designer @jmarvel__ could not have made this book what it is without you! :) Pre-order at invisiblethings.co and you can submit pre-order receipts there for a free updated 16x20 Invisible Things poster!

HEY! @gemmacorrell returns to @creativepeptalkpodcast to talk about her phenomenal new graphic memoir “ANXIETYLAND” On the pod apps and YouTube NOW! This was a fantastic chat. Gemma has one of the most inspiring creative practices of anyone I know and it was so good to explore the relationship between creating things and mental health with her. If you’d like to get back to a place where your creativity has more of a positive effect on your well being than a negative one, check this episode out!

Do you struggle with a kind of “Object Permanence”? You know, like, if something is out of sight, is it out of mind? I really do. I’m a good friend and sibling when you’re in front of my face, but when we are apart, I can get totally lost in my own everyday. One of the scary aspects of this is how hard it is to remember who I even am. I forget what makes me happy, what I care about, what I’m even interested in, unless I make it sort of a discipline to stay in touch with myself. If you’re like this, you may get something from my latest @creativepeptalkpodcast episode “Recover Sense of Self & Creative Voice with These 6 Juicy Prompts” - these are all things that have tremendously helped me stay more in touch with myself. On the pod apps and YouTube now! Now I just need to figure out how to stay in touch with others! P.S. It was very hard not to add a sticky note that said “A DAMN FOOL (SOMETIMES)(LET’S BE REAL)” but also it just wouldn’t fit 😆

I love how making things allows you to get an outside perspective on your own inner world. This collection is one of my favorite set of paintings I’ve made to date. This collection of paintings was made as episode art for my audio memoir series “Right Side Out”. It’s about embracing your neurotype and finding yourself through making things. I got this comment on the series today and it blew me away: “I listened to the whole thing in Its entirety yesterday during work. It sent me on a mission to explore my own entire personal journey. And pushed me from feeling stuck artistically, to setting me on a path to recover the most important thing needed to create authentic work, myself.” If you haven’t heard the series, you can find it at andyjpizza.com/rso And if you have heard the series, there’s now a bonus episode where I share updates, behind the scenes stuff and where I’m taking this work next. It’s episode 7 on the new “Right Side Out” podcast feed. Comment “link” and I’ll DM you the link :)

Today is an important day for me. The “Right Side Out” series is now its own podcast. On the surface, it’s about my ADHD, making peace with being like my mom, and how that impacted my creative journey. Episode 5 even includes a recorded conversation I had with my mom, who I hadn’t seen for a few years prior. HEAVY but healing. BUT Right Side Out is actually about helping YOU remember who you are, after years of masking and pretending you’re someone else. Every episode ends with a creative prompt. No serious art skills required. But creating things allows you to put a part of yourself out into the outer world and get an outside perspective on your inner life. Kind of trippy, but it’s true! It’s the 2 year anniversary since I launched this series on my podcast Creative Pep Talk, and we still get messages about people discovering it and getting something from it. So, I decided to make it easier to find by putting it on its own feed and adding a NEW BONUS episode with updates, behind the scenes and where I’m taking this work next. You can listen to Right Side Out on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. The easiest way to find it is to go to andyjpizza.com/rso or click the link in my story. Thanks for the lovely support and messages over the years. It made this very difficult project so worth it! And if this project had an impact on you, it would mean a lot if you shared it with others that it might help too! And I have to give a huge thanks to some friends and my team for making this possible. Thanks @thethreadhouse @connerjones @yoniwolf @whywithaqmark @lutimestwoo
