We’ve been JONESING to tell you about this one.
We are stoked to announce that Screen Australia and VicScreen are supporting us in bringing the world of You Can Smoke Anything to life.
We’re putting together a very talented, incredibly passionate, somewhat cursed cast and crew, and we are SO excited to get cooking to deliver a factually correct and informative narrative series in You Can Smoke Anything.
Stay tuned and follow us as we learn how to navigate the by-the-book world of “location permissions”, whatever “cost reports” are, and discover the concept of “paying your cast and crew.”
Thanks to everyone who has watched along and supported us in our journey so far. This is the biggest undertaking our team has ever done, and we couldn’t have gotten here without you. Mushy stuff out of the way: this series is a distilled, unapologetic, chaos bath. Come and get your tootsies wet with us.
You Can Smoke Anything is a Weird Neighbour, and You Got A Light? production.
Principal production funding Screen Australia, in association with VicScreen.
One of my New Year’s resolutions was to make the funniest sketch ever made. After months of hard work I am proud to release it here, on my instagram account. Enjoy
Hit my 2025 new year resolution of watching 1 film I haven’t seen for every day: 365 first time watches total. I look forward to not doing it again for 2026 🫡
Stoked to announce we are finalists for RØDE’s Creator of the Year in the comedy category. Genuinely an honour to be one of the five finalists listed - especially amongst some really, really funny people.
That being said, we aren’t listed in any People’s Choice Awards. This is a good thing. We wouldn’t have won the vote, and Jack would’ve questioned the validity of the voting system, threatening democracy as we know it.
We really scraped by there. Close one.
Thank you to @rodemic for supporting creators and for making us sound good.
Heading up for @gcfilmfest for SIPFEST the shorts program with a new Weird Neighbour short: Ride and Prejudice
Showing on the 10th of May.
Tickets are free; head to the GCFF website.
Congrats to all the films.
Might also hit up Movie World while there. Idk.
It's not advice, but it's not not advice. 'You Can Smoke Anything' is out now on Grouse House YouTube.
From Nov 6 to 15 we're showcasing five of our favourite Aussie comedy short films as part of GROUSE FILMS - a comedy short film festival for the internet!
'You Can Smoke Anything' is created by Melbourne-based filmmaking crew @weirdneighbourau
The Organist is coming to Brisbane / Bris Vegas / Brisneyland.
After 3 sell out sessions at Melbourne International Film Festival, and making our Sydney debut with Sydney Underground Film Festival, we are so stoked to head up north.
We’ve got 3 sessions for our Queenslanders: we are excited to serve up some dark comedy, some drama, some gore, for anyone attending (@bnefilmfest ).
Grab a Milton Mango and join us for these dates:
Angelika Film Centre, Thursday October 31 7pm
New Farm Cinema, Saturday November 2 4.30pm
Reading Jindalee, Saturday November 2 8.30pm
If you’re in Brissy or the surrounding areas, come along, meet some of the team, and invite all your cooked mates. Jack mentioned something about going to the Gat, or Tomcat, or Rics, or the empty Treasury Casino afterwards. I’m not sure what he meant by any of it but he sounded enthusiastic.
Thanks again to #biff for having us, they have an absolutely PACKED festival lineup full of some prime cuts of choice films, so we are blown away to be included.

We are stoked to announce that our debut feature film The Organist will have its world premiere at Melbourne International Film Festival in August!
The Organist has been an absolute labour of passion for us the past three years and we are thrilled to finally get a chance to screen it.
This could not have been possible with out the support and incredible assistance of so many people. In the coming month we won’t shut up about how grateful we are to the people involved that have helped make this cooked film.
Tickets can be purchased at the link in our bio for MIFF members right now, and the general public on the 16th July.
We have two screenings as apart of the festival:
13th August 9:15pm at ACMI
and
15th August 6pm at KINO
We’ll be dropping the trailer on Monday.
We made this film for next to no money, with mates that were happy to jump in and get around a pretty upsetting story and had the best time of our lives while doing it.
Cannot wait to share it with you all. ✌️🫶🙏

We’ve got a couple of screenings:
Saturday 15th June 7:00pm Comedy Showcase at the Alex Theatre
And
Sunday 16th June 3:00pm Made in Victoria
At the Alex Theatre
Come along for a particularly upsetting 17 minutes. (Plus a bunch of other short films which I’m sure are great)
