Took a road trip to Boise to celebrate 10 years of @ Collin and @kay_belanger . From there boogied up to McCall to visit @1mangang27 and his partner @stoutsta and their few-day-old baby Wilder Jean. Also crossed off Leslie Gulch from my Oregon bucket list. The adventure there I-84 had shut down past Pendleton which had me reroute down to John Day, OR, then East to Ontario, OR and eventually Boise at 4am. 6.5 hour trip turned to 10. Idaho provided smooth sailing and amazing experiences including a hot spring stop at another place I’d never been, Trail Creek Hot Springs. After leaving Leslie Gulch I was about 30 miles outside of Berns, OR. I had a tire blow out and replaced it with the spare- unfortunately the spare had a hole in it. I was outside of service and came up with a solution to plug the tire (thanks @mr.twister98 ) at about 1230 at night. Rode on a plug to a tire shop in Berns and slept in the back of the car until morning to see the tire shop was closed. Ended up riding on a new proper plug back to Portland for an early afternoon arrival. It wasn’t an easy trip in any direction but I was able to remain calm and persevered through the difficult situations in front of me which provided me some pride and confidence. Feeling like my Memorial Day weekend was a week long on its own. I am glad I made a commitment and followed through on it and saw it to the other side. Amazing trip, more memories, plenty of stories. Stoked for summer.
