No medals for our weekend exploits just a sense of satisfaction that we went out in memory of Megs and put in the muddy miles with all the close family including little Leni #muddymilesformegs
This year we wanted to celebrate Megs life and the impact she had on us all and still does. Forever in our hearts and minds. I hope we did her proud. ❤️❤️
It’s been quite an extended #muddymilesformegs weekend. Saturday we had the family hike and great to have @bipolar_uk CEO Simon Kitchen join us. Today, me and @barnzzzzzz made the rather daft decision to run the Standedge to Hebden Bridge leg of the Pennine Way and hike it back, a 30 + miles out and back route. The problem with Callum when I suggest these crazy ideas is he just says, yeah why not!!
A great day out for us though, amazing weather, incredible views, a fab lunch @the.excited.goat Cafe in Hebden and also great to meet up with @bendunning_ a fellow Muddy Mileser.
Legs are weary now but so good to spend the day with Callum & Megan in our hearts and minds on every step of the way ❤️

Saddleworth 3 Peaks #muddymilesformegs 2025 with @barnzzzzzz done. Tough but great morning out on the moors. Perfect weather and Meg’s was with us every single step of the way as ever.

Muddy miles for Megs 2026 Pt.2
30 miles for Megs 30th with @barnzzzzzz Out and back from Standedge to Hebden Bridge. Not enough water and no sun cream but apart from that, really good day with Callum and Megan in our hearts and mind ❤️
Saddleworth 3 Peaks 2026 #muddymilesformegs with @barnzzzzzz
It was tough, I felt ok for around 14 miles but then a quick ish down hill mile led to the wheels coming off. By the time I’d climbed the last hill (Aldermans) I felt shattered, my legs were heavy and as we headed across the moor towards the Pots n Pans monument, my knee started to feel painful. For the last three miles I did more hiking than running and felt my age as Callum carried on ahead on a number of occasions, before stopping to allow me to catch up.
Felt very weary since Saturday but it’s done and after a few days recovery, I’ll be back out training for the next challenge. The Muddy Miles for Megs continue
That was 2025 with quite a few #muddymilesformegs included as you’d expect. I think I’ve smiled more this year than 2023 & 2024, definitely laughed more in and around the tougher aspects. So let’s see what 2026 brings, certainly some big changes ahead.
Some impromptu #muddymilesformegs while up in Cumbria. Not really the right clothing for up on the fells but apart from the wind, the weather stayed kind and a better way to spend an hour rather than sat in the car.
