today, on trans visibility day we’d like to bring to the forefront the ongoing violence, disinformation and active erasure of trans people, through our gender* reveal* party* performed during @dutchdesignweek last october.
Slicing through a curated menu of symbolic and edible cakes, the performance serves up a critical take on gender reveal rituals - exposing the ties between Western gender construction and the systemic violence against trans* and gender nonconforming people.

A work exploring the evolving dynamics of parental relationships and caretaking, particularly as parents age. It approaches the shifting roles and responsibilities between generations, focusing on the nuances of communication and influence. Central to this exploration is the collaborative process I undertook with my father, which formed the foundation of the work.
The project began with a series of interviews, providing a space to reflect on our relationship, the impact and influence over time. These conversations were followed by workshops that transformed our shared experiences and insights into visual representations. The culmination of this creative process is a video installation that captures the essence of these themes.
The centerpiece of the installation is a recording of my father tattooing a design we created together. This act serves as a metaphor for intergenerational dynamics and conflict. Tattoos, once associated with outcasts like criminals and sailors, have undergone a generational shift to become a form of artistic expression and identity. In this context, the tattoo symbolizes the tension between tradition and change, as well as the marks, both literal and figurative, that parents leave on their children.
My father, as the one who applies the tattoo, takes on the dual role of causing pain during the process and supporting the healing afterward. He’s asked to take on my perspective against his initial opinions of the practice. This mirrors the complexities of parental influence: shaping identity, creating wounds, and fostering growth, but not just from your own point of view but accepting the process of forming opinions. The tattoo becomes a lasting image, embodying the intersection of our shared history and individuality of expressions, as well as the evolving relationship between parent and child.

The focus of the 29210 project is personal data and its implications in the digital age. As part of an interdisciplinary group effort, the team requested personal data from major companies such as Facebook, Instagram, and Google. The data retrieved was meticulously evaluated and interpreted, forming the foundation for an innovative exhibition that merges technology, art, and critical reflection.
The results of this data analysis were integrated into a series of computer games uniquely developed by the group. These games were showcased at an exhibition on custom-built arcade game machines, creating a playful yet thought-provoking experience. Visitors engaging with the games encountered revelations about personal information, illustrating how seemingly irrelevant data points can combine to paint a highly detailed picture of an individual. This realization often provoked critical reflection on the vast scope of data storage and its potential misuse.
The installation’s interactive nature aimed to focus on the continuous, often unseen processes of digital media and data collection happening in the background of everyday life. The four games offered a dual perspective: exploring specific snippets of personal data while also addressing broader themes of data storage, analysis, and surveillance.
As participants navigated the arcade games, they became acutely aware of the interplay between their own playful actions and the underlying reality of personal data as a commodity. The games used personal data as both a stake and a currency, making the stakes tangible and driving home the risks of casual, uncritical interactions with digital platforms. Through this engaging medium, the project invited users to reconsider their own digital footprints and the implications of a data-driven society.
vor—gänge Vernissage 04.07.19

The Vor-Gänge Museum is situated in the heart of Hamburg’s historic Gängeviertel. This interdisciplinary project was developed in collaboration with the Gängeviertel e.V., resulting in a curatorial effort to highlight the area’s city history, scene culture, and alternative urban and lifestyle models. The museum aims to provide both tourists and locals with an engaging introduction to the neighborhood while fostering a deeper understanding of its unique character.
The museum’s outdoor component consists of information boards mounted on facades throughout various locations in the Gängeviertel. These boards, coupled with a dedicated website, offer insights into Hamburg’s rich history and the socio-political narratives shaping the neighborhood. Visitors can explore these themes interactively as they walk through the area.
Inside the museum, an immersive experience awaits. Exhibitions focus on the current socio-cultural and political landscape of the Gängeviertel, encouraging visitors to reflect on the neighborhood’s role as a hub for creativity, activism, and community engagement. The displays aim to inspire dialogue and provide an authentic impression of life within the Gängeviertel today.
A central theme of the museum is making socio-political spaces accessible while encouraging participation and envisioning alternative futures. Through the overarching question, “What does your utopia look like?” the project invites visitors to consider their aspirations and engage with the intentions and hopes driving the Gängeviertel’s community initiatives. This question serves as both a reflection and a call to action, emphasizing the museum’s mission to spark imagination and foster collective visions for a better future.
