My dad and I are still waiting to wake up. A once-in-a-lifetime moment sitting FRONT ROW MIDDLE of the Oscars and during the iconic “I’m Just Ken” performance. My dad looked like he was going to cry after the song. One of his American dreams came true x1000.
Ryan Gosling smelled fantastic. Paul Giamatti was the nicest dude ever. I made Emma Stone chuckle. We overhead great celebrity convos we’ll never repeat. And my dad is still on cloud nine ❤️
Dream come true!!!! 🙏🏽 Honored to be hired as the Community and Impact Manager of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Can’t wait to continue building towards a more diverse and inclusive film community and industry at large 🇵🇭❤️
Filipino filmmaker inspired by the great films he saw, filmmakers he met and life-affirming screening he had at LAAPFF. Can’t wait to make something new!!!!! 🇵🇭❤️
Shoutout to my gf for being my rock this past festival week. My mental health went through the wringer for a myriad of reasons, and her love & care pre and post-screening got me through it all 😅 thanks for co-producing the film and being the love of my life ❤️
What dreams are made of. Screening a film about my mother that stars my brother and father for a sold out audience…all while sitting next to my mother and holding my brother’s hand as they saw themselves immortalized on the big screen…a moment I’ll cherish forever.
@vcmediaorg , thanks for giving emerging AAPI filmmakers a platform to showcase their work with the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, and for being so intentional in curating your programs. I was honored to be a part of such a great lineup of films.
And to the cast and crew of “The Sharp Point of Time,” THANK YOU for your tireless efforts and sacrifices to help bring this story to life. I’m forever indebted to you.
And to my loved ones who came out to see the film in its premiere, your support means the world. I’ve thanked or will thank each of you personally.
Finally, I hope at the very least you came away from my film inspired to tell your own story. Much love ❤️
My next short. Hope to shoot it later this year!

Happy 33rd birthday to the blessing of my life, Matthew “Machu” Acedo. You’re my brother, my best friend, my laughter, my happiness, my rock, my everything. You remind me what it means to be human. Thanks for spreading love to everyone and everything around you for your whole beautiful life thus far. Thank goodness our parents have you to save them from all my s**t. I’ll watch FROZEN and WICKED with you anytime you want. Love you brother ❤️
Witnessed a FILIPINO become the 1st woman of color nominated for the Best Cinematographer Oscar!!!! 🇵🇭 Autumn Durald Arkapaw, the DP of SINNERS.
People have asked me for 10+ years why I get up @ 5am every year to watch the Oscar nominations live. What just happened is the main reason: to be a part of history. And having the privilege of seeing them announced in-person as a 1st generation Filipino American is a dream come true I’ll never take for granted.
