The Art of Gathering
The simplest and most ancient thing we as humans have: a meal, a drink, a creative project, or a walk. These are some of my favorite moments in life.
As we and the world around us have evolved, gathering can feel like a lost art. The communities we live in aren’t always set up for it, and we often feel we need to receive something in return for the energy it takes to go out.
For me, gathering is a canvas, with every aspect involved being a brushstroke that creates a beautiful work of art.
It can be hard for our minds to comprehend the beauty of such a thing. You can’t measure it by mere visual aesthetics, sound, or utility. But as the space opens, the realm of possibilities becomes endless.
I’ve heard some of the most beautiful stories about what happens at these gatherings, but for me, it’s not about trying to measure or comprehend their success, it’s about providing the space and letting it live a life of its own.
Life’s problems are often not the problems themselves, but the environment in which we process them. When you enter an inspiring, new environment, you create the ability to see with fresh perspective.
I strive to be a window into a different reality, to express the complexity of the beautiful world we live in, to channel the spirit of cultural movements that shaped our present, and to help break the barrier between dream and reality.
