On a recent work trip to New York I invited eight strangers into my hotel room to photograph them just as they are. I asked them to style themselves or a friend. “We’re All Just Walking Each Other Home” is the resulting body of images and my attempt to paint an editorial portrait of humanity without the use of designer garments or upcoming runway pulls. Thank you @trecholopis @apollobual @alici.sol @dawnnjiang @kyla.go.me @mariadelcarmenforever @meggg.pdf @snakesrcool for spending some of your day with me and thank you to the most generous guy I know @adamjrubin for all his support!

Some more photos from my portfolio for @natgeo with @danagoodyear - these moments document what has become of the Palisades alphabet streets over the course of the last year. Neglected fences tangled in weeds and flowers, silhouettes of scarred tree limbs, a patch of crimson clovers that naturally grew back in a lot untouched by the fires.

Seed Bombs for @natgeo A little over a year ago, @danagoodyear gave me a call. We had just finished a story together for the New Yorker on the service efforts of the Los Angeles community following the devastating January 2025 fires (which burned her family’s home down in the Palisades). What she didn’t tell me at the time is that her 8th grade son, Rummy, and his friends found it impossible to return to the neighborhood as the destruction was too overwhelming to witness. She then proceeded to tell me that Rummy had discovered the magic of seed bombs, little balls made of seed and soil that can be planted anywhere - and with enough water - have the potential to grow into beautiful wildflowers. He intended to plant the seed bombs all over the burnt lots so that when residents returned home, rather than arriving to a scorched Earth of what once was, they’d be greeted by the surprise of vibrant wildflowers. Dana asked if I’d be interested in documenting the journey and I think I went silent for a few seconds as I tried to collect myself…one week later I was photographing Rummy teaching 4th graders how to make the seed bombs in their science class. Along the way, we met with UCLA environmental soils engineer Sanjay Mohanty, who was able to test the plant leaves for toxins that had built up in the soil. I then visited environmental scientist and applied mycologist, Danielle Stevenson, who taught us that when fungi are introduced to the seeds and soil, they have a phenomenal way of breaking down the lead and arsenic. When the wildflowers sprout upwards, they take the toxins with them so not only are we left with a garden of sublime beauty, but a natural cycle of phytoremediation is taking place. Nature healing nature - a reminder that when searching for answers we need not look further than outside the front door. @theseedbombproject

One year ago today, I watched my city burn to the ground and simultaneously rise up in solidarity - depths of humanity revealing itself in ways I’d never witnessed before. People who had received news their homes had been decimated showing up at volunteer sites to offer their hand only days later. Sending every ounce of love and strength to all those whose lives were upended during that tragic week and thank you to @newyorkermag @staceypictures @danagoodyear for the opportunity to cover this story and experience the altruism first hand.
