It’s 2026, I finally turned my auto caps back on, and I’m looking forward to another great year! But before that I always love to celebrate what really defined and helped me get through it all, and that’s through art - in all shapes and forms! And now this marks year 3 of doing these recaps with - questionable graphic design skills. Whether it inspired me, helped me escape, or was just something that I respect/admired, it’s all here, mainly in film/music, as well as some projects I worked on at school and beyond. NOTE: Each slide is loosely ranked just based on my personal enjoyment. Not trying to pit art against each other or make bold statements, it’s just a measurement of how much I got out of it. If it’s showcased here, it’s here for good reason (unless you’re looking at slide 19), and I recommend you check anything here out! AI/Robots can “generate content” but not make art. So thanks a bunch to all these wonderful artists and creatives that made my year and many others’ as well. Support your artist friends, support your local scene. Support what you believe in, and put your money where your mouth is. See y’all later this year!

Eternally youthful, eternally grateful. Got to catch my favorite band @thestartinglinerock back-to-back for their special Reconnect holiday gathering in Philly. “Three’s A Charm” for 2025, between these two gigs and the Starland Ballroom gig in NJ earlier this year kicking off their Eternal Youth tour, but also my serious TSL fixation this past year, really summing up my 2025. Got back into my groove and found my “Direction” this year: “growing out my hair, and not car[ing].” Musically really found and grew comfortable in my sensibilities too — always finding that perfect balance of melody, punk attitude, and sincerity; which is everything The Starting Line is all about. I won’t forget hearing tracks off of “Eternal Youth” live debuted by the band for the first time across all three gigs. At each show the energy from the fans and the band themselves was palpable. Will always remember meeting Kenny of TSL @vacationing for Reconnect Night 1, coming out to high five and thank us for waiting in the cold (thanks for taking the time to take a pic!) Andif you see this, I was that kid shouting about Lifetime, my love for “I See How It Is,” and the wonderful “Love Will Tear Us Apart” lyric on “Circulate.” Through my internship over the summer with @piratepirate I found out the band was returning with a comeback record — 18 years in the making — early, a hard-kept secret I had to maintain. When I went back to school for the semester I made sure to get basically the whole thing in our system at @wtsr913fm and play the hell out of every track, especially “Sense of Humor,” — definitely a big part of the reason I charted these guys #1 for us a few times over at NACC. Much love to all my new elder emo friends I made at these still kickin’ it with TSL all these years later, and to all the amazing openers I was put on to across these shows. Think I made a new holiday tradition this year, and that’s to hopefully keep spending it with @thestartinglinerock for years to come. 📸: @hurleyhurley
