Feral Fantasies by Andreas Haglund is back in Dansehallerne on May 14th.⁠ ⁠ Feral Fantasies stages processes of domestication and their wild undoing. Y’all, I spent the last month in residency in Austin, Texad hosted by @themuseumofhumanachievement / @unlistedprojects in the residency program Copenhaustin run together with @warehouse9.dk It’s been an intense month of soaking in the american south and following artistic curiosities of producing music and doing theatrical makeup. Being new to both these mediums and this place, I had a bewildering month getting lost in all three. This post shows some glimpses of how I spent my last month x On Texas: I was comforted to see how the queer underground stays resilient in the face of anti-trans & anti-drag legislature and how bonds of solidarity take shape in the lack of a welfare state. Mutual aid and comitment to community was strong despite a general political disenchantment. Austin, this liberal island in the bilingual lone star state both re-affirmed and challenged what i though texas was. It is big(!!) trucks, oil and guns, but also drag queens, hospitality and stunning nature. Thank u to all who showed me around and made my southern stay a little sweeter ! Meet the Choreographer⁠ Andreas Haglund (SE/DK) works as a freelance choreographer, dancer and performer in and around Stockholm, Copenhagen and Malmö. Their artistic practice centers on explorations of the somatic, material and aesthetic coherences between queer lived experience and cultural conceptions of nature. Through the composition of speculative and sensuous dances, images and soundscapes their choreographic practice creates wild collages where concepts resonate through embodiment. Their work takes place on stage, in dance practice and in critical text. Educated in Dance and Choreography from DNSPA he is now an active member of Dance Cooperative; a platform, dance studio and venue for dance practice and performance organised by 12 professional artists in Copenhagen. Through the organisation he has participated in producing several performance events and workshops, for both local and international artists. ⁠ ⁠ Haglund’s newest solo piece, Fereal Fantasies, will premiere at Dansehallerne on October 29th.⁠ ⁠ More info via link in bio✨️ ⁠ ⁠
