Just when you think the year may be over.... a big week of creative development for The Fire Project. ---- For those in fire-prone area, fire anxiety dominates summer months. The Fire Project by Andrea Gibbs is an immersive audio-journey through the urgent issue of escalating bushfires in WA and across Australia. Through powerful first-hand accounts, it immerses listeners in the realities of fire, offering an understanding of its effects whilst proposing pathways for regeneration and hope. The Fire Project shares raw, personal accounts that highlight the human side of the climate crisis, fostering empathy and triggering dialogue on climate crisis and its impact on land and people, in an effort to build broader understanding and bring change. With interviews from WA communities in Albany, Denmark, Margaret River, the Perth Hills and South Australia, these stories reveal resilience, humour and heartbreak, offering reflection and inviting conversation through broad perspectives on fire experiences. I’ve signed up for a 20km hike through the jarrah forest near Dwellingup at Big Jarrah Dawn to Dusk, June 21 - very wholesome and environmentally conscious of me, I know. But look, I grew up in the country and I love this part of WA. The bush means a lot to me. The jarrah forest is magic and I’d quite like it to stay being… you know… A FOREST. The hike is raising money to help stop the proposed Alcoa bauxite mine expansion alongside the Bibbulmun Track. If you’ve got a few bucks to throw at the cause, I’d really appreciate it ā¤ļø Link in bio legends! @goodtroubleprojects

International VAD (Voluntary Assisted Dying) conference in Brisbane… yeah, heavy stuff. Doing research for a writing project, and in absolute awe of the health workers, researchers and lawmakers in this space. Thank god for river walks and a bit of Brissie sun to take the edge off. Brain cooked. Something’s brewing. @minderoofoundation #artistfund

Meet the eight Western Australian artists who will create bold new work with support from the 2026 Minderoo Artist Fund. From stage and screen to visual arts, photography and more, this talented cohort of passionate, committed artists will each receive a $35,000 grant or 6-week residency valued up to $20,000 to spark new ideas and keep contributing to our cultural landscape. The Artist Fund’s new cohort was revealed by John Hartman at a gala event in Northbridge celebrating how creativity, culture and education are essential to thriving economies and communities. ā€œBy directly supporting local artists, we are working to increase access to a rich cultural life in this state,ā€ he said. ā€œA well-resourced arts sector will expand the breadth and depth of arts, culture and creativity, leading to more vibrant and connected communities across Western Australia.ā€ Because when artists thrive, communities thrive.

Tonight our team took to the stage for the final performance of Carol by Andrea Gibbs šŸŽ„ We'd like to thank everyone who brought this magical show to life. Writer @andreagibbs , our Stage Crew, Production Team, and of course our absolutely sensational cast, Sally-Anne Upton, Mark Storen, Ruby Henaway, Bruce Denny, Isaac Diamond and Jackson Harper-Griggs. This show had it all - laughter, tears and music all wrapped into one beautiful theatrical gift šŸŽ We had a blast putting on this show, and hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. A reminder to give your loved ones a squeeze, and do your best to spread some compassion and joy this Christmas ā¤ļø

"As Carol, Upton is quite simply superb. Her brilliant delivery of Carol’s ā€˜everywoman’ monologue halfway through the show is alone worth the price of admission, and you could hear a pin drop. The monologue is one of Gibbs’ best pieces of writing so far. " @seesawmag šŸŽ„ Carol by Andrea Gibbs is showing until Sunday 14 December šŸ“· @misterdangrant
