Reforest your mind! Join Jarrahdale Forest Protectors, WA Forest Alliance and Ricky England for a bus tour around the Northern Jarrah forests for a chance to see first hand how bauxite mining is affecting the forests. The tour will go through beautiful unmined jarrah forest, sad, silent rehabilitated forest and mined areas. You’ll be able to see the proximity of mining to water catchments and the realities up close, guided by locals and campaigners. There are two tours, leaving from the Serpentine Jarrahdale Landcare Centre. The first will be leaving the community centre at 8:30 am, and returning at 12:30pm. The second will leave the Serpentine Jarrahdale Landcare Centre at 1pm and return at 5:00pm. There will be a break for morning/aftenoon tea on each tour. Tickets are free but limited, so book quickly to get a spot! Link in profile. Cool detail images by @ooidscientific

Good trouble is the creative, nonviolent kind of disruption; it is joyful, absurd and pops up in your daily life. Good Trouble Projects will make magnetic, creative work about issues that matter. Our first 3 actions are designed to pressure the government to reject the current application by the Aluminium Company of America to mine an additional 11,000 hectares of the Northern Jarrah Forest by raising awareness of the impacts of forest mining and driving the government to fund an alternative and viable future. Good Trouble Launches officially in late May. Join us on Sunday to learn about what’s planned and how you can help. If you can’t make it and want a recording send a DM

Good trouble is the creative, nonviolent kind of disruption. The kind that makes people stop and think by asking inconvenient questions in public. Good trouble is joyful, absurd and pops up in your daily life. We believe that humour is the fastest route to understanding and the most disarming way to get things done.   Good Trouble Projects is here to fill the gap for people that arent sure where to put their hope and ideas for the future. Our drive is to reach people across the political spectrum — inner city to regional, first-time to seasoned.

Every action starts with a cause that deserves a broader audience. Who isn’t in this conversation yet? What would bring them in? We build around the answer — using relatable characters, creative framing, spectacle, music, film, data and humour, with collaborators who bring genuine skill and genuine belief to what they make. We know we don’t need to preach to the converted. We are interested in everyone else. Our first 3 actions are designed to pressure the government to reject the current application by the Aluminium Company of America to mine an additional 11,000 hectares of the Northern Jarrah Forest by raising awareness of the impacts of forest mining and driving the government to fund an alternative future.

Keen Stop Alcoa’s plundering? If you are an artist, filmmaker, musician, scientist or communicator — we want to hear from you. If you fund creative work and environmental actions that reach beyond the usual audiences, we want to talk with you. If you drink tap water and want to protect it, there is something you can do right now.
