EXCITING NEWS!! My book has arrived! I hope you'll check it out!

Throw away the awards. Embrace the grace.
Have you ever found yourself trying to impress God? Working to please Him with “shiny” spiritual performance? At times, that trajectory feels satisfying—even expected. But amidst the doing, we’ve robbed ourselves of God’s greatest gift. Maybe it’s time for some undoing!
Embrace the Undoing guides those striving to be good toward relying on grace’s completed work. It leads you to God’s unwavering acceptance where true freedom is found. The need to prove yourself relents. The self-imposed standards dissolve. The comparison fades. Are you ready to live like that?
Through practical insights from the author's no-nonsense but often humorous approach to life, this in-depth biblical conversation based in Galatians provides a grounded framework for even the most experienced believers to get to know grace all over again.

Preacher Chicks United is an incubator for women of color to cultivate preaching and teaching gifts.
More than a year ago I was invited by @pastorfelicia18 to join her vision for creating an intentional space for women of color to nurture the teaching gifts God's given them. Our small but mighty team has been praying, dreaming, working and planning to launch this ministry THIS FALL!
We are currently accepting applications for our very first cohort! If you want to find out more, you can hear from Felicia as well as our whole teaching team on our YouTube channel (link in bio).
Is God stirring something in you? Or do you have a name coming to mind of a woman who might be ready for something like Preacher Chicks United? Please share!
So thankful for this lovely path I walk to my office everyday. Surrounded by @gvlivermore - a sustainable tiny home community for our formerly unhoused neighbors. My office is in the blue house on the left of this pic - my little space where I wear both my @crosswindschurch pastor hat and my @leadingbold executive director hat...nestled in community on all sides -- church, friends and new neighbors.
Thankful for how God takes what was a barren, deserted old farm and breathes life into the "dry bones" to create thriving church and healthy community.
Only God.
For reals.

Welcome!
Here we laugh, encourage one another and refuse to take ourselves too seriously.
We bolster each other's faith, celebrate wins and -- did I mentioned? -- laugh!
If you're new here, please introduce yourself.
I was recently introduced at a speaking engagement where my friend (who is the executive pastor at the church where I was teaching) said that when she thinks of me, she thinks of F-words. 😳
The she went on to describe how these 5 F-words remind her of me:
FUN... Getting a laugh is one of my life goals. And when I teach, I like to have fun, cuz who wants to be bored when we're taking about Jesus!?
FAITH... My faith is woven into every aspect of my life. Whether or not you're a person of faith, I hope you'll enjoy what I have to say. Plus I'm a pastor... So... Faith is kinda a job requirement. 😏
FOUNDER... Founded Lead Bold with 3 other women in ministry. We're a leadership organization committed to empowering and equipping women to reach their full potential in ministry leadership.
**btw if you're a woman in ministry head over to @leadingbold and follow us there. You can also check out our website [link in bio].
FIRED UP... I can't help but think of one of my high school cheers when I hear "fired up!" ( Yes I was a cheerleader. Shocking/not shocking.) As an enneagram 7 I'm all about getting fired up! I don't hold back my enthusiasm and I hope it gets you fired up, too.
FAMILY... Navigating life with my 3 favorites, including the amazing Quinn, Chris (who won't see this cuz he never checks social media) and Kennedy (who also won't see this cuz we haven't let her get Instagram yet) 😏
So... Those are my Fs.
Nice to meet you.

Dr. Samuel Proctor said the purpose of preaching is to "tilt life God-ward." I love that so much! It's the essence of preparing and delivering a message...the whole hope. And then we have the freedom to let it go while God does what He does.
Today I got to do that @hillsidechurchmarin with one indoor service and one outdoor in a lovely courtyard surrounded by gorgeous flowers...and a hummingbird even stopped by mid-message. Thank you @josephk_martin , @timmyarnett
and @cleberoak for welcoming me. It was fun to serve alongside you all.
We talked about goodness, and its divine work that brings about internal results, even when we don't always see the "external" outcomes. (Galatians 6)
I am so thankful I get to use my gifts to serve @crosswindschurch regularly and sometimes - like today - getting to serve another local church body. Missed you @jdpridemore and @tmw4kidz but humbled to give faithful pastors a break from teaching and the freedom to get away with their families.
Today I taught for some amazing women in Fresno. It was really special because, aside from preaching at church, it was my first time in 14 months to share a message!
We talked about how to be a Martha...yeah you heard that right! In the Gospels Martha kinda gets a bad rap. She's been labeled the "busy body" the one who "didn't have time for Jesus." (We won't get into how culturally innacurate that assessment is...)
Instead I taught today on a brief conversation she has with Jesus after her brother Lazarus died. It's one where she expresses her grief/lament/complaint AND her trust/faith/believe. She's an incredible model of how to engage with Jesus on both of those levels...2 perspectives that SEEM to be mutually exclusive.
But they certainly are not.
What are you grieving? What have you lost? What unexpected change has challenged your faith?
Express your sadness, anger, complain, lament to Jesus!
And...what faith and trust do you have surrounding this loss? It doesn't have to be much! Jesus showed Martha what powerful response He has to even the smallest bit of faith!
Express whatever trust you have in Jesus. Hold both the lament and the trust and bring them both to your conversations with God.
And that is what we learn from Martha!
(John 11:20-27)
3 years ago I had the privilege of participating in a soul care cohort for pastors. At the closing retreat there was a panel of alumnae talking about "life after" soul care.
Well, today I got to be on that same panel and speak words of encouragement to the current group of pastors and leaders going through the cohort.
It was so meaningful to get to reflect on what God taught me and how that 9 months truly re-shaped my life with God.
