My new single ’Traces’ explores some new territory into the more energetic and euphoric world of electronic music. Influenced by melodic electronica similar to artists like Tycho, Ross From Friends and Machinedrum, Traces takes elements of the breakbeat genre, enhanced by some subtle piano and circular synth melodies to create a blissful, glittering tapestry of sounds.
I’ve always wanted to explore these more experimental elements of electronic music, and I’m certainly a fan of blending styles together. Traces is really just a tribute to this more chilled-out electronica and breakbeat music I was listening to in the 90s which felt like it made everything just feel warm and fuzzy again. This style seems to have made a major comeback and with really surprising and innovative results. I can’t wait to share more stuff like this!

Mortlock’s latest single Marmara is a deep and hypnotic journey, combining recorded sounds taken from Turkish percussion and Oud and mixed with the churning organic sounds of The Sea of Marmara in Turkey.
"The idea for Marmara was born after a trip to Istanbul many years ago. I was wondering how I could capture the mysterious feeling that the city projects in a techno track. Using samples I recorded there, and mixing it with some oriental beats and Oud, Marmara was born. Named after the Sea of Marmara, where Istanbul is situated."
Marmara's richly melodic elements and driving techno beats and rhythmic percussion will be sure to please fans of techno and experimental electronic music alike, whether it’s on the dance-floor or at home.

Mortlock’s new single Hold My Hand is out now!
The first release of many new singles featuring vocals by Tasmanian-based singer / songwriter PARKER.
(Tash) Parker and Mortlock have been busy over the past few years experimenting with various styles and have come up with a unique string of collaborative works. Most of these were conjured up via sessions online while in isolation, and in-between having both delved deep in to their emotional worlds of love, distance and soul-searching.
Featuring sonic landscapes layered with a dreamy vocal from PARKER, Hold my Hand marks the first of our upcoming singles. It’s also a lead-up to Mortlock’s EP’s title track Deep Water (feat. Parker), due for release in May.
Drawing on inspiration from the likes of Four Tet, Logic1000, Rival Consoles, Moderat and Massive Attack - Hold My Hand pulls us in to an intimate and electric world of passionate, spaced-out synths and a fast paced heart-beat rhythm.
Mortlock also directed and edited the visuals and music video himself.

It’s the first of many new creations i’ve been cooking up over the last couple of years - and i’m so excited to finally share it with you all.
Everydaze is about falling in to the rhythm of the every-day we all create for ourselves, and the choices we make which bring us closer to our true calling in life. I recorded some atmospheric sounds at Berlin’s Ostbahnhof Train Station which helps to create the immersive feeling, as we drift through the many places - with music in our ears to block out the everyday distractions. I have also created some visuals so you can also experience this release inspired by my everyday observations. 🎥 🎬✨
