A collection of motion concepts from 2023-2025.
Behind each animation there's a concept and set of rules defining how the brand moves and shows up in the world.
Each of these concept are rooted in the brand's story, mission and intended audience.
Hey everyone, I'm still here!
It’s been a hot minute since I shared my work and process, a whole year to be exact. Since then I’ve been truly locked in, cooking, collaborating, and crafting with ambitious people, brands and studios. I’ve been niching down (hard!) into projects where I Set Things in Motion™ and Bring Exceptional Brands to Life™ (yeah, you better believe it) through concepts that take static brands and products to a whole new level.
There’s a lot of work I can’t wait to share with you, but it usually starts with one thing: the logo. So why don’t we begin there?
2024 marked my 4th year as a full-time freelancer — and what a year it’s been. This is now my 8th time sharing a yearly review, and every time it gives me so much perspective on the journey and the direction I’m heading.
This year has been a rollercoaster in many ways. Personally, the first half was filled with both the excitement and challenges of traveling and moving around. I spent a month on Madeira, and Frida and I lived for a month in Munich, while also splitting time between Stockholm and Copenhagen. It was an incredible experience to live and work from so many places, but it also came with its struggles. Everything shifted in the fall when we finally bought an apartment in Copenhagen, bringing a huge sense of relief and stability.
Professionally, 2024 has been a year I’m really proud of. I want to acknowledge that it’s been a tough year for many in the creative industry, and I feel fortunate that this year has brought me solid opportunities and projects. I’ve been fortunate to work on 20 projects, while 24 didn’t make it past the proposal stage. This year also marked a noticeable shift in the kind of work I do, with more projects focusing on brands in motion and UI animation. It’s been really exciting to explore these areas and see how they push my creativity and skills in new directions.
It’s also been a big year for teaching — my 5th at Linné Universitetet, 3rd at Sörängens Folkhögskola, and 2nd at Hyper Island, all in Sweden.Every year, I’m reminded of how much I enjoy connecting with students and giving back to those who are just beginning their creative journey, as I once was!
Looking ahead, I’m excited about launching my new brand and website in 2025 under my own name, Anders Waltz. It feels like the natural next chapter, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it’ll all lead me.
Big thanks to everyone who made 2024 so memorable — and cheers to what’s ahead in 2025!
❤️
Bringing the Danelec® logo to life wasn’t as straightforward as it might (hopefully) seem. The two separate shapes had to transform from one form to another, land softly in place, while also melting together at the edges. It was all about keeping things smooth and fluid, yet precise.
On top of that, working with certain effects meant we couldn’t export directly to Lottie. So, we had to invent a completely new workflow, exporting the animation frame by frame, bulk-vectorizing each one, and then re-importing everything back into After Effects as a sequence. It took a lot of problem-solving, but the result feels dynamic, forward-moving, and effortless (even if it wasn’t!)
Shoutout again to Daniel & Casper from @oimachistudio for being incredible collaborators throughout this whole process. Always a pleasure working with you 🧡
Oimachi: “For the Danelec® logo we sought to bring the ideas of transition and connection alive while navigating the constraints of the Lottie format. Anders Waltz, a good friend, immensely talented at bringing brands into motion – made this happen to perfection. We couldn’t be happier with how the animation seamlessly captures the forward-thinking nature of the Danelec® brand. Thank you, Anders!”
New work for Danelec® with @oimachistudio .
Danelec® is leading the way in the digitalization of the maritime industry, with 30+ years of experience and 14,000 vessels using their tech. Their focus on sustainability, zero-emission fleets, and innovation makes them a leader in maritime transformation.
I had the pleasure of working with my good friends at Oimachi on this project, defining the motion for Danelec’s logo and brand elements. Our aim was to capture the ideas of transition and connection—core to Danelec®’s future-forward approach.
Shoutout to Daniel & Casper from Oimachi for always delivering top-tier work and being incredible collaborators. Their vision and attention to detail made this project an absolute joy!
Stay tuned for more.
Anders: “Creating a 90-second animated brand film solo is quite a challenge. That’s why I love collaborating with other creatives. This time, I teamed up with Jonas, an absolutely brilliant motion designer, as well as Nicolas, a fantastic sound designer who time and time again finds new ways to bring our animation to life through sound.
For this project, we alternated between clean, flat vector graphics for more communicative scenes and dramatic compositions with light and shadow for storytelling moments. My favorite scenes are the 2nd and 3rd in this highlight, where huge, rough blue and red shapes push in on the housing icon, symbolizing how difficult it can be to navigate the property management industry.”

Jonas: "I had a blast working with Anders on this project! One of my favorite parts of my job as a motion designer, is the problem solving.
Working with Anders’ designs was a lot of fun, and especially figuring out the shot of the user-icons shooting off was a fun little challenge.
I didn’t want to resort to having an enormous comp, so I instead relied on giving the illusion of fast movement using a looping array of the smaller checkmarks, while making an efficient rig that could modify the paths and the timing of the icons easily. It only needed to move and rotate minimally in the comp, which made it a breeze to work with.
I love making rigs that make later feedback easy to accomodate!"

Here’s a look at a project we worked on with @moststudios before the summer break! The goal was to express the value of the client’s property management system for both new and existing users, while introducing their new brand identity in an engaging way.
The original film features a voice-over and a bunch of additional scenes, but we wanted to share a few of our favorite moments and some designs that didn’t make the final cut. Stay tuned for two more highlights over the next couple of days!

Anders: “Super happy to finally share this piece by Claudia, Nicolas, and myself. I first saw the illustrations on LinkedIn a little while back and immediately thought, ‘Wow, I have to ask Claudia to animate that!’ I’m so grateful for the way the creative industry allows us to connect, reach out, and collaborate. Needless to say, Claudia’s work is just incredible and Nicolas truly brought the scene to life with his sound work, making everything feel incredibly real and immersive.”
I figured it was time to make a reel since I haven’t made one since 2019! So ta-daa, here are some of my favourite animated shots from the past years. Find the wide-format on my website via link in bio.
Thanks to everyone I worked with to make these projects come to life — including those who gave me feedback on the reel itself!
