Super Typhoon Sinlaku struck the Northern Mariana Islands this month, bringing powerful winds and relentless rain that caused widespread damage across Tinian and Saipan. In the aftermath, Airmen from the 36 CES’s Damage Assessment Response Team mobilized quickly to restore power and water, repair facilities, and clear debris, ensuring the base remained operational. Team Andersen led a rapid, coordinated response alongside base agencies, local government, and military partners to deliver humanitarian support across affected areas. Airmen removed fallen trees, assessed and repaired critical infrastructure, and reinstalled signage that had been taken down ahead of the storm to reduce hazards to personnel and property. Thank you to the Airmen, personnel, and partner agencies whose dedication drove cleanup, recovery, and relief efforts during this challenging time. Your work is vital to restoring operations and supporting the community. Our thoughts remain with everyone impacted by the storm. The FORWARD EDGE - Conclusion This past month we’ve been honing our razor-sharp edge by especially focusing on multi-fighter integration and air-to-ground ordnance delivery training with the Air Wing in and around the Northern Mariana Islands. . . The heat, humidity and unpredictable weather forecast is no match for ARGO resiliency, focus and determination we’ve shown over the past weeks. There’s no obstacle too great when it’s faced with the fine men and women who are proud to call themselves ARGONAUTS. It’s that relentless spirit that defines this team and drives the mission forward every day. #DamnProud 📍 @andersenafb

Designed to strengthen interoperability across the region, the Pacific Engineer Readiness Challenge (PERC) united 11 nations to train side by side in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific. Multinational teams tackled a demanding obstacle course and executed hands-on engineering challenges at Andersen AFB, Guam, including SSS tent construction, crater repair, AM-2 and FRP matting installation, and an airfield damage-after-attack route, applying the same techniques while accomplishing a shared mission. Throughout PERC, partner nations learned from one another’s capabilities, leveraged unique strengths, and built confidence in their collective ability to respond. Airmen demonstrated cohesive, mission-focused teamwork, communicating across multiple languages to achieve success. By bringing partner nations together, PERC reinforced trust and operational integration, ensuring future allied operations are faster, safer, and more effective. 🧩🌏💪 USAF 🎥 by HAF AF/A4C Warfighter Communications @andersenafb | @pacific_air_forces | @indopacom | #CEAirmen #AirmenEngineers #ReadyAF #USAFCE #USAirForce #MissionReadyAirmen #ReadyTodayReadyTomorrow

In the fall, Brigadier General Christopher Leonard, the Air Force Director of Civil Engineers, traveled across the Pacific theater, visiting installations from Hawaii to Australia to Guam, to witness firsthand how Airmen on the front lines are shaping the strategic landscape. His journey underscored the dedication and adaptability that define Civil Engineer Airmen around the globe and remain critical to projecting airpower in a contested environment. During his visit to Andersen AFB, Guam, Brig. Gen. Leonard observed the breadth and impact of projects executed daily to sustain and advance the mission. He engaged with five squadrons spanning the Reserve and Active components, all united by a shared strength: unmatched readiness to meet any challenge, regardless of scope or complexity. The Engineers he met demonstrated an innovative, solutions-oriented mindset, reinforcing that the CE community is uniquely postured to lead with agility and purpose anytime, anywhere. 🌏💪 USAF 🎥 by HAF AF/A4C Warfighter Communications @andersen36wg | @pacific_air_forces | @indopacom | #CEAirmen #AirmenEngineers #ReadyAF #USAFCE #USAirForce #MissionReadyAirmen #ReadyTodayReadyTomorrow

A Look Back at Brig. Gen. Leonard’s Pacific Tour 🌏 In September, Brigadier General Christopher Leonard, the Air Force Director of Civil Engineers, embarked on a Pacific tour to gain critical insight into theater campaign activities and the complexities of operational planning. The visit focused on assessing challenges to key infrastructure and facilities, while also observing exercises and training programs that enhance joint and partner Civil Engineer readiness. The tour began at Joint Base Pearl Harbor–Hickam, Hawaii, where Brig. Gen. Leonard observed MAJCOM- and headquarters-level engagements. He then traveled to Darwin, Australia, to participate in the A4 FVEY Forum, advancing logistics priorities, aligning strategic A4 initiatives, and strengthening collaboration across Five Eyes working groups. Next, Brig. Gen. Leonard visited Andersen AFB, Guam, engaging with the Expeditionary Theater Support Group, reviewing PACE operations, assessing housing and dormitories, and observing both the Silver Flag Training Site and a Total Force CE unit in action. The tour concluded with stops at Kadena AB, Japan, and Eielson AFB, Alaska, providing a comprehensive view of Indo-Pacific operations, infrastructure engagements, and overall mission preparedness. Brig. Gen. Leonard’s visit reinforced that our Airmen possess the expertise, adaptability, and determination required to execute today’s missions while anticipating and overcoming tomorrow’s challenges, ensuring the Air Force remains agile and mission-ready whenever and wherever duty calls. |FISGA RAIN| This week, the Alaska Air National Guard Airmen deployed to Andersen Air Force Base for FISGA RAIN, a first-of-its-kind contested communications exercise in the Indo-Pacific. Members from the 176th Communication Squadron, 168th Communication Flight and 176th Air Defense Squadron will test agile networks that link ground, air, and sea rescue operations with joint partners across Guam. The 144th Airlift Squadron’s direct deployment from JBER showcases the Guard’s ability to project power across vast distances. FISGA RAIN reinforces the Alaska Air National Guard’s commitment to regional security and a free, open Indo-Pacific.
