Typhoon Tinoâs devastated the Philippines but the destruction is manmade!
Bongbong Marcos and all the corrupt officials who stole money from the infrastructure projects meant to protect the people have blood on their hands. Ang mga kurakot, AY BURUKRATA KAPITALISTA!
As overseas Filpino youth and students, ANAKBAYAN LA calls on you to support our kababayan! Donate to the victims of the typhoons directly through mass organizations. Fight the rotten system by organizing for national democracy!
Imperialyismo, IBAGSAK!
Pyudalismo, IBAGSAK!
BURUKRTA KAPITALISMO IBAGSAK!
Activism is not a terrorism.
Hindi krimen umuwi â itâs not a crime to return home and serve the people.
ANAKBAYAN LOS ANGELES honors filipino youth Alyssa Alano and RJ Ledesma who integrated with the farmers and peasants of Negros, using their specialized skills to serve the people. They helped the oppressed and exploited assert their right to dignified livelihoods against big landlords, foreign corporations, and a corrupt Philippine government. Alyssa, RJ and 17 others were killed by the Armed Forces of the Philippines but will remain heroes of the people.
On Feb 4, 2026 ANAKBAYAN LOS ANGELES joined 20+ LAUSD schools who organized a walkout of classes in protest of the horrific ICE murders and raids taking place across the country.
A mass activist in ABLA spoke to the thousands of youth, linking the historical struggle of fascism to US imperialism: âAnne Frank wrote in her diary the same words we are describing the conditions of todayâŠwhy is it that somewhere in the land of freedom is probably a little girl hiding and writing about ICE right now? The fascism of nazi germany continues on today in the US with violence against citizens to suppress resistance. And fascism affects filipinos too!â
Incidentally, Feb 4th is the 126th anniversary of the Philippine American War and is a reminder for the youth to expose the historical atrocities of US imperialism on filipinos. The speech linked the Philippine government tagging filipino american activists as terrorists, similar to how Alex Pretti and Renee Good were treated by the US government for exposing their violence. We as ABLA know the fight back against fascism is truly just!
âThe youth must organize ourselves again and again to end fascism and imperialism, to take down the system of oppressionâ, the student in ABLA exclaimed to the agitated crowd. âFrom the youth of America to the rest of the world, we must unite to be heard, this is not the future we want! ICE Out! From the US to the Philippines, US out of everywhere!â
Other speeches from the students echoed similar feelings - the youth and students want to organize and educate each other on the global situation to change the rotten system! We MUST defend our migrant workers and bring together other youth to fight back collectively!
Join community organizations, join ABLA! FIGHT BACK! MAKIBAKA!
DO NOT BE AFRAID! HUWAG MATAKOT!

Join Anakbayan LA to study PSR, Philippine Society & Revolution, our foundational study in the National Democratic Movement!
This essential study goes over the conditions of the Filipino masses throughout history and the struggle against the 3 Basic Problems. We will have 2 sessions to go over this study and discuss the analysis that informs our political line.
We are also asking for a suggested donation of $5-10 to help cover the fees for this study! A lot of work goes into planning and preparing for these studies so these donations really help support us :D

Autopsies were performed on 5 bodies of the Negros 19 victims. Dr. Raquel Fortun, the leading pathologist with over 20 years of experience in high-profile cases, has raised concerns about the Philippine militaryâs malpractices regarding the handling of victimâs bodies and investigations on the crime scene. Her findings do not align with the narrative the AFP has been providing.
From the crime scene, Dr. Fortun has pointed out discrepancies in the case for a âlegitimate firefight.â why are these wounds found on the back of their bodies? If this was a violent confrontation, why have some victims been shown to have been shot again, and again, and again, and again, despite their visible lack of retaliation?
Beyond the crime scene, Dr. Fortun has called out the incompetencies and malpractices of the government agencies held responsible for carrying out formal investigations. The AFP has already cremated bodies before autopsy. She reports bodies found in water, wrapped in plastic, and having been well-past the early stages of decomposition. In one case, of Errol Wendel, the family has received the wrong body.
An expert with years of professional experience has spoken on this matter. We must hold the Philippine government and the AFP accountable for their injustices - of the death of the N19 victims, and of the mishandling and disrespect of their physical bodies. Too many factors are not adding up. We must not be quick to dismiss this as an âunfortunateâ incident involving âterroristsâ - according to the NTF-ELCAC. We demand accountability. We demand justice.

STOP THE KILLINGS! STOP THE ATTACKS! NTF-ELCAC ARE THE LIARS đ
ANAKBAYAN LOS ANGELES rejects the NTF-ELCACâs (National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict) attempts to red tag our organization and other progressive organizations. For years, our campaign work has shown that the ones who truly put the people in danger are not activists, but the very government itself that enacts violence on its own citizens and neglects those in need. We stand committed to our struggle to take up the issues of the masses and fight until the victory of the Filipino people, regardless of the lies spread by the Philippine governemnt to dissuade Filipinos from fighting for their own rights and welfare.
ABOLISH THE NTF-ELCAC! EXPOSE THE LIES OF THE NTF-ELCAC & AFP!

MAY DAY 2026 âđŒ
WATCH: On May 1st, ANAKBAYAN LA joined @communityselfdefensecoalition at Los Angeles City Hall to celebrate International Workersâ Day alongside millions of workers across the globe. We stand united with the worldwide demands of the migrant working class and protest the violent arms of US imperialism that is responsible for their forced migration.
In 2026, we see escalating global militarization direct violence towards the Filipino working class. The ongoing US-Israeli war in Iran places 2,400 OFWs in harms way and has already claimed the lives of 2 Filipino workers. The resulting energy crisis threatens the livelihoods of thousands of transportation workers.
Then on April 19-20, 19 people in Negros Islandâincluding 2 Filipino Americansâwere murdered by the US-trained AFP in its indiscriminate strafing upon farm laborers and peasants. Their demand for the fields to be returned to them was no more complex than our labor unionsâ demands for livable wages.
âThe communities that live there are not terrorists, not violent, not animals. They are peasant families, workers, and youth.â
The violence inflicted in Negros and the Middle East is the same violence we see in ICE attacks on migrant workers. It is the same violence that seeks the deadly suppression of those who rightfully protect them. As an ABLA member sharply summarized in her speech:
âTo protect foreign and corporate interests, they slaughter and terrorize the people that rise up against it. This terrorism is just one part of the struggle against the red tagging of labor solidarity.â
We remain unafraid to demand justice for what is right. The organized youth, alongside the workers of the world, have the power to break the chains of US Imperialism. Join the community and defend migrant workers from attack! Join Anakbayan LA!
MAKIBAKA! HUWAG MATAKOT!
Though death befalls all men alike, it may be weightier than Mount Tai or lighter than a feather. To die for the people is weightier than Mount Tai, but to work for the fascists and die for the exploiters and oppressors is lighter than a feather.
Kai and Kyle died for the people, and their deaths are weightier than Mount Tai.
Justice for the Negros 19!
As Filipino youth, Anakbayan USA condemns the recent massacre by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the US-Marcos regime in their brutal aerial strafing operation at Barangay Salamanca, Toboso, Negros Occidental on April 20, 2026. As a result of these gross human rights violations:
19 people have been killed
653 individuals have been forcibly displaced from their homes.
Among the 19 massacred were student leader Alyssa Alano and peopleâs journalist RJ Ledesma. We join the international calls for justice! We uphold RJ and Alyssa as shining examples of youth who committed their lives to bring forth a new and more just world!
We demand justice for them and the thousands of lives lost through state-sanctioned killings in the Philippines!
As Filipino youth in the US, it as our duty to end the US-backed war on our people! It is our duty to organize for genuine democracy and land reform for the Philippines!
We call on all Filipino youth to join us: speak out against these grave injustices, join organizations, and grow the mass movement!
US OUT OF THE PHILIPPINES!
Justice for Alyssa Alano!
Justice for RJ Ledesma!
Defend Negros!
YOUTH RISE UP!
Anakbayan Los Angeles will be joining 10+ LAUSD schools walking out today in support of the UTLA, SEIU Local 99, and AALA demands!
TODAY 4/13 12:30pm 333 S Beaudry Ave. - LAUSD Headquarters
Our community came together in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 1 for an afternoon of stories, art, and dialogue reflecting on the 2025 NAFCON Medical Mission. Hosted by Siklab and @anakbayanla participants shared powerful firsthand accounts from flood- and typhoon-impacted communities, uplifting how government neglect and corruption continue to shape our kababayanâs health and living conditions.
Through photos, videos, and conversation, we traced the connections between these realities and forced migrationâexamining why so many Filipinos are pushed to leave home, and how those of us in the U.S. can stand in solidarity. At the same time, we celebrated the resilience of communities in the Philippines that continue to organize, care for one another, and rise together.
From healthcare workers to artists, everyone played a role in this collective effortâand together, we reached our fundraising goal for disaster relief. @nafconsocal 's Bayanihan Disaster Relief fundraiser is ongoing, so if you werenât able to make itâand still want to be part of this workâyou can support at bayanihanresponse.org
Maraming salamat to everyone who showed up, listened, shared, and continues to stay connected to the struggles and strength of our communityâeven from an ocean away. đ”đâš
