Dirar Kalash is a Palestinian musician and sound artist whose work spans a wide range of musical and sonic practices within a variety of instrumental, compositional and improvisational contexts. He is mostly known for his politically driven soundscape / electro-acoustic project "The Sonic Front", and the compositions "we can't breathe (for eric garner, george floyd, and frantz fanon)" and "by any means necessary (for Malcolm X)"
Alongside his work in sound and music; Kalash is also a researcher and an educator within interdisciplinary intersections of sound, literature, memory, experience, and everyday life in Palestine, in the framework of "politics of space of time"

Crank Sturgeon explores the unwieldy commingling of noise and low brow performance through the use of thrift store electronics, transgressive body art, and costumes culled from the recycling bin. The resulting consequence has been a triple decade / multi-continent odyssey of fish-headed happenings; taking the shape of inflatable parades, uninformative lectures, improvised audience orchestras, and even an amplified badminton game now and again.
Wouter Jaspers is an electro-acoustic sound artist, composer, and (electronic) instrument designer known for his dark, immersive music and innovative instrument designs. Utilizing a vast archive of field recordings and (radio)noise, accumulated during his extensive touring life, Jaspers creates compelling sonic narratives. His work transcends genre boundaries, operating fluidly across diverse musical scenes, from experimental noise to structured new music composition and he collaborates with a multitude of artists, orchestras and ensembles like Ensemble KNM Berlin, Bendik Giske, Theo Nabicht, Hainbach (as Odd Narrative) & Frans de Waard (Ezdanitoff).

Participants will learn basic soldering skills and how to build their own simple DIY radio transmitter circuit from the kit, test and align the transmitter, broadcast their own material and experience how these can turn into a primitive generative wireless instrument or a local broadcast infrastructure for your community step by step.
Materials supplied: mini FM transmitter DIY kits, soldering irons, radio receivers, radio literature/library.
