In honor of the first day of Filipino American History Month: āBAYANIHAN IN BLOOMā šµššŗ | šø @amymaramba
This editorial is a celebration of Filipino womenāour strength, softness, and shared stories. Through the theme āGiving Her Her Flowers,ā we honor each womanās journey, beauty, and legacy. Rooted in sisterhood and cultural pride, this project brings us together to uplift, recognize, and reimagine what it means to bloom in our own light, but together.ā
I had been sitting on this idea for a while; from the flowers, message, and how I envisioned the styling to look - the biggest thank you to my full Filipino cast for believing in me and bringing this to life š„ŗ and for @themestizola for graciously providing the full wardrobeš«¶š¼

As a child of immigrants, being a freelancer in the art field was their biggest worry. But Iām glad I stayed true to myself, cause now they love seeing me thrive. They see how happy I amā¦how I made a living off of doing what I love. All the sacrifices they made for me led me here. Making not only them proud, but myself, is my biggest flex.

To my first home in DTLAāyou gave me everything I couldāve asked for and more. Joy, friendship, community, opportunity. Iāve hosted over 100 photoshoots in this spaceācontent days, video shoots, sleepovers, cooking with friends⦠the list goes on. This space held so much life.
Making the decision to leave was not easy, because I built this place with so much love. But it ultimately came down to one thingāpeace.
A friend once asked me, āWhy do you keep choosing hard things when you donāt have to anymore?ā It made me realize that staying here would mean continuing a cycle Iāve outgrown. So Iām choosing to get out of Gotham City yall lol. A bigger and better space, and I have amenities!!! š luxuries Iāve never even cared to have, but now can!
If you read all this, and/or contributed to all these wonderful memories, I love you. 20 slides doesnāt even cover how many friends have come thru here. Everyoneās favorite Head Quarters. Yall are all invited to the next one. Cheers to choosing peace š¤

Big thank you to @fresh.pryncee for letting me come thru! Yall know anything community, Iām there. Nothing beats being surrounded by good people, art, and music. I had a blast meeting so many of yall. Be on the look out for their next one!!
You donāt need a fancy studio + lighting to get booked for big gigs. Some of my best work has come from shooting outdoors. Study your craft, know your settings, and adapt to your environment - skyās the mf limit. Trust your instinct!!!
