126 Artist-Run Gallery presents It Felt Like A Dream, a solo exhibition by Asha Murray.
Asha’s practice examines narratives of contemporary life through a feminist perspective. She is inspired by the societal constructs interwoven within mundane objects, everyday lives, and domestic spaces.
Her practice explores and engages with object ontology, questioning the influence of objects on everyday life. Working across experimental film, textiles, and sculpture, Asha considers themes of overconsumption and consumerism, and the impact of these on identity.
We invite you to join us for the opening reception on Saturday April 4 at 6pm.
Running until April 26.
Open Wednesday to Sunday, 12–6pm.

Blown away by the evening we had creating our wonderful Culture Night community banner. To everyone who came along and contributed, had a chat, wrote something or shared a story- thank you. Massive thank you to @portershed for having us, @artsofficegalwaycity and Galway City Council for the support.
This workshop was an idea that came to mind when witnessing the increase in individuality and division amongst our community. To gather and create an artwork is a reminder that we all belong.
Till next year #culturenight 🫶

João just presented about the Waves of Change art residence that took place earlier this year in Galway. The goal of the residence was to spread ocean knowledge to local communities through art
Feel free to reach out to the artists and to the research team for more details

Thank you to all that attended, particularly those that came from far away. We had 130 people attending the showcase, and we hope that this ripple will make a wave of change for a more sustainable ocean

Yesterday marked the commencement of the Waves of Change residency program! It was an absolute pleasure to witness the scientists in action and observe the various elements that contribute to the protection of our oceans. The data collected not only influences policy but also raises awareness the impact climate change, pollution, microplastics and more have on our oceans and ecosystems.
The artists selected to participate have the crucial task of transforming this knowledge into art that helps the everyday person connect with our oceans and enhance their ocean literacy. The expedition took place aboard the Tom Crean, the Marine Institute of Ireland’s research vessel, alongside scientists from ATU, led by Chief Scientist João Frias who has been instrumental in bringing this project to life. Exciting developments are on the horizon, and I’m thrilled to be hosting the residents here at Watershed! #wavesofchange #oceanliteracy @wavesofchange_ireland@atugalwaycity
