My first time participating in Self Tape May and I’m excited to simply play and dive into scenes, some I have had for years, without it being an actual audition as a way to reignite things for myself.
I thought about creating a separate page for these but decided to let them live here, to share vulnerably part of my art.
*NOTE- a heart has to be shown in some capacity to denote that the tape is not an old tape. That is why I’m holding one at the beginning
So many of you only know me as a commercial actress, but I am not just that in this acting space.
Some scenes you will recognize. This particular one is from one of my favorite recent shows. I know how it was in the final production but this is my take on it in not those exact shot circumstances.
There is a moment where I said the wrong thing- love to know if you catch it- but I kept going because I felt so in the flow and pocket of the emotion ✨

Mothers and Mothering
I was not mothered with tenderness or gentle care.
I was mothered first with abandonment from one and then anger, harsh words, and physical force by another. I acknowledge that sacrifices were made and raising another woman’s child wasn’t in the original plan my Aunt probably had. I’m grateful to have been taken out of a situation I maybe would not have survived, I don’t regret wishing the experience of being mothered had been softer, kinder, and more welcoming. Through my personal healing I understand I was raised to the capacity of capability at the time.
It’s taken an immense amount of quiet forgiveness, hard boundaries and empathy to get to that understanding.
All experiences have helped shape who I am now and inform how I show up in the world.
In ways I’m still learning to mother myself. I’m grateful to all the Women along the way who have been beautiful examples and mothers to me in some way.

When I saw this hieroglyphic scene of (I think this is correct) Auset (Isis) breastfeeding Heru (Horus) on the back wall of the mammisi (birth house) at Temple Edfu in Kemet (Egypt) I immediately burst into tears.
Much of that journey, I believe, was around possibly beginning my grieving process of not being a mother in this lifetime…..yet or not naturally, or ever… I don’t know yet.
I’m massively grateful to all my friends who have granted me the privilege of knowing and at times caring for their children. It is an honor.
To all the physical Mothers in the world- Thank you! none of us would be here without you.
To all Women who mother in some way, even if you are not a physical Mother, Thank you! You are needed and loved too!

Gas is crazy high but I'm grateful @intuitive.ceo asked me to go down to Manhattan Beach today to volunteer my time doing a sound bath for a group of Mother's who are currently in transitional homes/shelters.
It was truly an honor to share the healing of sound with them💕
The little dip in the Ocean sealed the afternoon perfectly!
