Echo is here! Full film in my bio. Over the better part of the past six years AM Dance Productions has been in development, production, and distribution of Echo. Today is the conclusion of that work. We live in a time of existential consequences. Echo explores at the personal and emotional root of our motivation, our actions, and the consequences. Inspired by Gene Kelly’s Alter Ego Dance, this is by far the most ambitious film I have ever attempted. I must take a moment to express my gratitude for the team that built it with me. I wish to thank John Michael Fiumara and Peter Francis James for their exquisite artistry and talents in bringing these complex characters to life. I also wish to thank Makayla Ryan who spent countless hours writing and rewriting this piece with me. I must also thank David Spadora and the ENTIRE pre-production and production teams behind the camera, including music supervisor Andrew Atkinson, costume designer Marion Talan De La Rosa, associate choreographer Dario Natarelli, and composer Logan Evan Thomas. Special thanks to Evan DeBenedetto who played John Michael’s double in all of the moving shoots in the duet sequence. And lastly, I wish to thank the many post production facilities that worked on Echo including Teaneck Sound, The Color Nest, and Midnight Snacks. Echo was a labor of love. Personally, the CEO and the professor, despite their drastic differences both remind me of my father. On one hand, my dad would always pull me close and say, “take care of yourself first. Don’t trust anyone else to take care of you.” And on the other hand, he was not wealthy monetarily but was a rich man through a life devoted to family, friends, his work, and the home he built. Both of those characters are my Dad, a contradiction in world views that somehow coexist. I think if we are completely honest, to some degree both of these characters live within us all. It is with deep love that I dedicate this film to my father, Tindaro “Danny” Morigerato and Lorri’s father Gary Leonardi and to all of the dad’s out there who made an impact of consequence on the lives of others. It is with gratitude that I leave you: Echo.
