Honored to have given a lecture about my paper “Archival Silence: Menstruation and the Female Dancing Body” as part of the Performance and Dance Medicine panel at the International Conference on Creativity in Dance. Thank you for the invitation, it was a pleasure!

A little peek behind the creation process of Day 1, an exploration of the four phases of the menstrual cycle, and of change as an inseparable part of life. We would like to introduce you to our first of four pieces in this seasons Junge Wilde : “Day 1” Choreographed by @amitabend With original music by @benjaminrottluff Part of the Junge Wilde evening , premiere this Wednesday 25th of March at @theaterpforzheim ! Dancers: @__giuliaspinelli , @sarascarella , @ellysdiary86 “Day 1 explores the menstrual cycle through movement and text, addressing the question of how we meet change, move with it and accept it as part of being alive. The four phases of the cycle serve a dual purpose: they provide a choreographic framework and offer an entry point into body literacy, the practice of recognizing and interpreting the body’s signals. With three dancers at its center, Day 1 weaves collective impressions with personal stories, creating space for reflection on a topic still marked by silence and stigma. Though rooted in the menstrual cycle, the piece speaks to something universal: life’s cycles, transitions, and the ways we move through them.” Next shows: 26-27-28-29 of March and 4th of April ! I am still in awe of the past couple of months choreographing for the production of Anatevka at @landesbuehnen.sachsen I entered this process full of excitement, but also with some worry about taking on a role in such a large-scale production. From the moment I met the ensemble on day one, though, I knew it was going to be okay. I have been overwhelmed by their warm welcome, generosity, and kindness throughout this entire process. It has been a true privilege to be part of this production—not just as a young choreographer, but most profoundly, in getting to know so many beautiful & talented humans through it. I will never forget it 🤍

Reflecting on our “Forgiveness” residency. In July, I was fortunate to work with the wonderful @about_blank_collective and @thomandthewolves on the first @macht creative residency at @villawigman made possible by the support of @fondsdarstellendekuenste and the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media. It was an intense and profound experience, and I feel grateful for all the people who came to our sharing, as well as our dear family and friends who took part in our research process. We only just began to unravel a topic that is so vast, and deeply meaningful on personal, interpersonal, and universal levels. The lessons, conversations, and discoveries I experienced through this research continue to resonate and accompany me to this day. Photos by @bilder.wahn

13.09.2023 WHAT IS HOME? Sweet memories from the workshop I conducted as part of TANZPAKT in residence 2023 🌿 “As we sit, breathe, move, and connect with our body, we are coming home...” During the workshop, we dove deeply into the topic of home, starting with its physical variables such as family, friends, country, culture, and language, and continuing into the deeper layer - the home that exists within ourselves. Using meditation, free writing, breath work, and dance, we explored movement sourced by sensing the body as a sacred space, in which we can feel pleasure, peace, freedom, celebration, connection, softness, and everything we seek in a home. By tuning in with presence and sensing the body from within, we explored a new layer of connectedness with ourselves, the space, and the people around us.
