Crimea is often spoken about through war and politics, not through the voices of its indigenous peoples. This project explores how fashion can hold memory, resist erasure, and preserve identities pushed to the margins.
Combining visual culture, postcolonial thought, and material memory, it examines displacement and the endurance of cultural identity through three deconstructed looks inspired by Crimean Tatars, Krymchaks, and Karaites.
Using layering, distortion, and abstraction instead of traditional dress, the series treats fashion as both research and testimony, navigating themes of grief, survival, and belonging.
