It was fun to have a different perspective of the mountains. A majority of this backpacking trip was rainy or there were mist clouds rolling through. We were shown the harsh & ever-changing climate the mountains endure first hand. The best part? It was still just as beautiful (in it’s own way) 🌧️

I’ve recently learned that backpacking might be Finn’s favorite thing to do. He gets to hike, swim, roll around in the grass & the snow, sleep on the ground right next to me, run free.
He’s always been the cuddliest pup & pretty lazy, but this year he’s shown me that he also likes to do really hard things (like backpack 25+ miles & peak mountains).
He has shown up & faced all the hard things, and of course, got in as much sleepy time and cuddling as he could. I’m in awe of him & the way he sees the world. I wanna be like him when I grow up 💛🌝

My takeaways from this day of canyoneering:
- I ♥︎ doing hoodlum things with my friends 🤸🏽♀️
- Rocks rock
- If you give strangers nerd clusters they’ll let you hand over hand their rope so you don’t have to do a 5.5 exposed scramble 💚
- Bring a frisbee ✍🏼
- Rappelling is more fun when you have to squeeze through a tight slot canyon
- Do research on the road approach beforehand… and maybe all of the other stuff too
- Giggle! with! your! friends!

We did 2 nights in the Box-Death Canyon & it was absolutely ✨gorgeous✨ You want know what beats spending time unconnected in the woods? Spending time unconnected in the woods with your homies :,)

Sometimes you just have to set up a table outside & cook yourself dinner! As always, I used my go-to way to chef up: @littlekamper ♻️ I started using their exchangaable 1lb propane tanks and never looked back 🙂↔️
