This project sheds light on the horrifying reality of Sadnaya Prison infamously known as a human slaughterhouse. Following the fall of the Assad regime, prisoners were released , revealing the unspeakable torture and the powerful stories of those who never made it out: messages, graffiti, and drawings left on the prison walls. These markings serve as haunting testimonies, becoming the only trace of many lost lives. The Whistle of Sadnaya is a personal archive built to document these wall writings and preserve their memory. The project also plays a role in my own family history through the secret whistling language we've used for generations, a form of sound communication that helped two people find each other inside the prison. In a place where light was absent, sound became the only way to see.
This archive becomes both a tribute and a resistance, ensuring their voices are never silenced again and always remembered.

A conceptual dance film set in New York City, exploring our relationship with time and aging.
It was inspired by a conversation around womanhood, artistry, and how our relationship with time shifts as we move through life.
