Touring Pack Process.
I’ve wanted to make a technical backpack for years. Intimidated by the complexity of designing one from scratch, I kept putting it off. This year, I decided to begin — designing as I went, developing the pack from a paper pattern into a finished prototype.
This pack brings together lessons from various past projects. What’s reflected here are many hours in design, and many more in production.
Proud of the result.
Another week in the studio.
Side projects to get the space organized and running efficiently. Hopefully more time laying stitches behind the machines soon.
Much of what I make comes from a desire to solve problems I see in existing products. Guiding requires a certain outfit of gear and opens the door to tailor‑made solutions.
The rig bag is a guide staple — holding the essentials: oar locks, straps, ropes, tools, and more. The classic bag swallows it all and turns it into a mess.
This one doesn’t.

Another tote fresh off the machine.
