thirteen years today and married for one month,
this town hall day somehow held all of our years together. we thought it would be quick, easy, simple, in and out, but it turned into a day that truly represented us.
we told everyone that if they felt like saying something, there would be room for it. that turned into so many emotional speeches that basically told the story of our entire relationship.
can’t wait for part two next year ✨
so much love and gratitude for everyone who plays a role in our relationship. everyone who knows us knows it’s not always easy and that our love is hard work, but we’re so thankful we found each other, and that we’re building a story we’re proud of.

almost 13 years together, and today marks 1 year of being engaged
little storytime
last year on this day we’d already been in new york for three days, our first far trip without the girls. we left right in the middle of a busy work period and honestly my mind was on everything except a proposal. also because i’m the planner in our family, i always thought i would def notice something since i know him quite well haha.
what i didn’t know was that in our very first year together, during those late night teenage dream conversations sitting on the floor of his room, he once asked me how i would ever want to be proposed to.

fast forward 12 years later and he somehow managed to remember, plan and do the impossible and secretly get a ring behind my back. which is honestly quite a challenge when you live together, both work all the time, sometimes even together, and have kids.
he took it through customs, hid it from me for three days and stayed completely calm while we had dinners, long walks and conversations, until the morning of march 8 when we ended up on that rooftop.
i wanted to take a photo of the view - as always - and he turned around, his voice slightly cracking, and started with
12 years ago we first spoke on april 17…
i remember laughing and asking him, confused, are you okay? but then it hit me and i burst into tears.
now our civil wedding is on april 17.
