🌿Meet WORLDING 2026 Teams:
Spotlight: Paru – West Kalimantan, Indonesia
Alysha Nelson, Storyteller
Adi Gangga, Forester
Paru is an interactive place-based documentary grounded in a decade of peatland field research that structures the transboundary haze crisis as a series of decisions and exchanges by exploring impossible economic choices facing smallholder farmers in West Kalimantan. Through a series of collective decisions and exchanges, it reimagines game mechanics within a live sensorial environment: projection mapping onto organic surfaces, spatial audio, farmer testimony, and field recordings.

So good to see so many of you at 🌼A Shrine To The Everyday🌼 at @southbankcentre as part of Creative Encounter last week.
Little did we know, as @alyshanelson & I anxiously waited for participants to arrive, how much creativity, heart, thoughts, items & memories will be generously shared throughout the night.
Conversations, personal stories were overheard, well-wishes read out, and harmonious humming of busy hands creating encapsulated within the space as we held each other for a brief moment in our uncertain world today💚
Here are some envelopes you’ve turned into personal shrines - as a record of togetherness, hope and creative exchange.
Thank you all for coming.
Love,
Vroomlab

Very excited to share that @alyshanelson and Vroomlab are co-hosting Southbank Centre Creative Encounter: A Shrine to the Everyday on 1st April. The motivations for the workshop comes from the increasingly divisive political landscapes we find ourselves in and the desire, as artists and creatives, to offer hope, celebration and togetherness in this world, however small.
The team at @southbankcentre has been incredible in helping us shape an idea into a functioning and feasible workshop in the Clare Ballroom on a Hayward Late @hayward.gallery centring around their current exhibition Chiharu Shiota x Yin Xiuzhen. Both of these artists moved us with their immersive and provoking work and sentiments towards lost homeland, migration and the transforming meaning of objects and we‘re deeply inspired by them.
Please come join us if you can! 🧚♂️

mak said don't whistle at night so i screamed instead is inspired by the Legend of Mahsuri — a woman cursed and immortalised in Malaysian folklore — this project interrogates AI and audience interaction to glitch colonial memory and rewrite history in real-time.
Audiences aren’t spectators — they’re players inside a living system. Through disrupting loops, breaking codes, and reprogramming the story, they confront the forces that have scripted BESEA identity.
This isn’t a retelling. It’s a decolonial hack — fusing ritual with technology to ask: Who scripts the myth? Who pulls the strings? And what happens when we refuse the roles we’ve inherited?

On January 23rd we presented FIRST DRAFTS to a packed-out auditorium @newdiorama in London. Six brilliant, international artists and artist collectives took part and shared new, thrilling work-in-progress, curated by the PROJEKT EUROPA artistic advisory board.
Here’s a little taster of the work from that day, created by the wonderful @ro.ci.cha
You can read more about the artists and their work on our website - they are @devakirajendran@anita.brokmeier@maxpandfriends@sssol1312@alyshanelson@alishamaryamm@francesca_matthys@linn.actormaker ✨
And if you’re an artist looking to take part - stay tuned! We’re planning more of these - and not just in London...!

FIRST DRAFTS - meet the artists!
On January 23rd we’re presenting FIRST DRAFTS – the second event in our works-in-progress presentation series at New Diorama in London. Over the next few days, we’ll be introducing you to the artists taking part - next up is Alisha + Alysha!
Alisha + Alysha is a collective of Malaysian-born artists whose work explores body politics, critical race theory and the impact of colonialism manifested through perceptions of the self. They work at the intersection of live art, augmented reality, AI, spatial sound, and experimental theatre as a vehicle for social change, showcasing a unique perspective of objectification theory that has limited occupancy within dominant culture.
FIRST DRAFTS is a unique chance to see performance extracts by artists from around the world, and an experiment in collective curating - the second of a series of three events that is organised by PROJEKT EUROPA’s artistic advisory board. Don’t miss this unique celebration of the extraordinary creativity and diversity of migrant performance in the UK!
The evening includes work by Anita Brokmeier & Devaki Rajendran (Germany/Poland & India), Max Percy (Hong Kong), Francesca Matthys (South Africa), Sol Santana (Brazil/Switzerland), Alisha & Alysha (Malaysia) and Linn Johansson (Sweden).

Thanks to everyone that joined us for the launch of “Chaos and Hope” - massive congrats to the curator @alyshanelson and included artists.
🗓 Now open: 1st November- 7th December,
Thursday – Sunday, 12 – 6pm
📍 Hypha Gallery 1 6 Sugar House Lane, London, E15
"Chaos and Hope" A Playground for Change is a presentation of selected works that interrogate the interplay between moments of disturbance and hope; positing play as a pivotal yet frequently marginalised construct that underpins the emotional resilience essential for sustained activism. This exhibit transmutes the gallery space into an arena of creative defiance, facilitating an embodied conversation via the convergence of still and live, performance and spectator, community and participation; a critical examination of play’s ontological role as a transformative agent – one that can catalyse profound social change and collective empowerment.
i-dont-have-an-art-history-phd translation: Marginalised artists are TIRED of constantly being expected to centre suffering in their work, & of feeling like their pain is being commodified. Yes, struggle is real, but so is ݁ ⟡ ݁ joy ݁ ⟡ ݁ ., and this exhibit is a celebration of that.
Check out Hypha's Eventbrite to book the excellent free events coming up soon!
