I’m thrilled to share that my feature directorial debut, baby/girls, has been selected to World Premiere at @sxsw next month. baby/girls is a raw, verité film about teen motherhood in post-Dobbs Arkansas. We spent two years following three young women whose stories all begin inside a Christian maternity home for pregnant and mothering teens. They allowed us to follow as they navigated pregnancy and early motherhood while still figuring out who they are themselves. It’s a deeply intimate portrait of the lives of American women that we hope cuts through the noise around reproductive politics to show the lived reality of generational poverty, trauma, and incredible resilience.  I am proud to have directed this documentary over the past 2 years in partnership with the mega talent of @jackie.jesko And I’m forever grateful that she and @latchkey_films trusted me to tell this story with them. I’m extremely lucky that Melissa Leardi @melissajemmaa masterfully produced this movie, that @cassandragiraldo so beautifully filmed it and that Daniela Quiroz @qid_around was our brilliant editor. Most of all, I’m thankful for the courage of the women in the film. Thank you to SXSW for bringing our film to the world! Let me know if you’ll be in Austin in March!!

This is it; the big door prize. 🐣💫💛 Uma Timothy Gill graced us with her presence on the summer solstice and we haven’t looked back since.

I’m feeling very lucky to work and play with the kind, talented and super smart people who were nominated for FIVE Daytime Emmy’s this week for our season of Home on @appletv These are the people who actually MAKE what we watch. They work so hard and with so much passion for these stories. They endure really wild hours in the edit, grueling shoot schedules and so so so many very, very deep covid tests. But I know I speak for everyone in saying we have amazing jobs and we want to keep making beautiful stuff that helps people learn and grow and see the world in new ways. To the networks and the studios, keep funding quality nonfiction! We will keep getting you nominated because we’re damn good at this and we love it. We’re nominated for Outstanding Directing Team, Music Direction and Composition, Cinematography, Sound Mixing and Sound Editing, & Single Camera Editing. So incredible! And because I’m 8 months pregnant and have a lot of emotions right now, I have to give an extra dose of love to the people who don’t really get recognized in these nominations but should because they make EVERYTHING happen. Be kind to your producers, people. They find these stories, build these relationships and give you the stuff to shoot, the sound to record, the images to edit. They get you there and make sure you’ve got food and ibuprofen to consume along the way all while making sure we come back with the story too. The producers on HOME crushed. Much 💞 @emoley @courtneycrock @julponte @nameisphoenix @nstern07 @schnurr_dawg @aude_ct @annakeegs @thelivingq @sarao219

Spent the pandemic making a docuseries about the place we have all been contemplating, remodeling, and re-envisioning more than ever: HOME. Thanks to @a24 for bringing me on board. Thanks to all of the amazing homeowners who allowed us in (masked, of course) their doors. And HUGE thank you’s to each and every producer, director, editor, DP, and crew member who made this thing with me and the incredible @collin_orcutt Instagram only let me tag 20 people but it takes a village to make this stuff. Grateful for all of the many people literally around the world that joined us on the adventure! Watch on @appletvplus on June 17! #HomeS2
