Tonight I watched The Pitt, and I feel genuinely proud of what this show represents. Beyond its raw and unfiltered portrayal of life inside a major city emergency department—and the unwavering dedication of the medical professionals who serve there—it also took a courageous stand on an issue that is deeply affecting so many lives in this country right now.
The show did not shy away from acknowledging a simple but powerful truth: regardless of documentation status, people are human beings who deserve dignity, compassion, and the opportunity to live safely. None of us truly knows another person’s story—their struggles, their sacrifices, or the circumstances that brought them to where they are today.
I do not often share my personal beliefs publicly, but tonight felt different. It felt important to say this: no matter who you are, where you come from, or how you identify—your sexual identity, your sexual orientation—you are a fellow human being. And you deserve the same fundamental rights and respect that belong to all of us. #hbomax @hbomax #abolishice #humanrights #saytheirnames #standupandspeakout
