We had the privilege of meeting Greg Hill, Canadian ski mountaineer, extreme athlete & environmentalist, at the Arc'teryx Sydney Galeries store. His insightful talk about his life & achievements was perfect timing, inspiration for this coming winter. And we scored a copy of his new book!
Also enjoyed the discussion between Greg & @lexparso on their approach to working & being safe in the mountains. Thanks guys, a great evening!

Avalanche skills training in the Australian Alps - come on a course this winter. You'll learn why & where they occur, how to interpret an avalanche forecast, recognise avalanche terrain, assess the snowpack, and importantly how to perform a search & rescue after an avalanche.
AST1 Courses now open for bookings. Link in bio.

Through this season, our courses have had people from diverse backgrounds, ages, experience and reasons for doing the AST1. The constant was their enthusiasm and thirst for learning about touring in the backcountry, snowpack analysis, avalanche formation & avoidance, and the all-important companion rescue. We love the stoke & camaraderie that is so evident at the end of every course, it keeps bringing us back every year!
Many thanks to our loyal guides Liam, Cal and Tay for helping us out this year, you guys are legends.
Also again this year thanks to @arcteryxausnz for their gear & support.
And @salomonausnz & Montana skins @basenedge , π
Hereβs to the dads β We asked Dave from @alpineaccessaust what lesson has the outdoors taught him that he would pass on as a father. Swipe to hear from Dave.

Great crew for our first AST1 of the season! Terrain and snowpack assessment, touring tips, avalanche rescue & more. Beating into 60kmh headwinds on the way home was fun too π You were all legends.
Spots on some July & Aug courses still available. Come on down!
