We are pleased to launch our new program, 𝑺𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒏 𝒅𝒆 𝑨𝒍𝒑𝒉𝒂 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒓𝒚 — a salon where sensibility and discourse flow through contemporary art. Salon de Alpha Contemporary is not a white cube separated from everyday life, but a space where art, life, conversation, and contemplation remain together. Within an environment shaped by European antique furniture, everyday objects, and contemporary artworks, art exists not simply as something displayed on a wall, but as a presence that mediates sensibility and dialogue between people. While the white cube often isolates artworks from their surroundings, Salon de Alpha Contemporary quietly explores how art may exist and form relationships within spaces layered with atmosphere, lived time, memory, and personal taste. The space draws inspiration from the historical notion of the salon. Just as salons once brought together artists, writers, philosophers, and musicians to exchange ideas and sensibilities, Salon de Alpha Contemporary also seeks to create a space where different cultural and artistic practices intersect gently around contemporary art, allowing intellectual exchange and inspiration to emerge naturally. It seemed almost like a declaration: removing his heart and leaving it in a place where no one could reach it, choosing to live as if his heart no longer beat. Or perhaps he buried painful yet precious memories and emotions there, gaining freedom in return. I too have buried secret stories throughout the forest of my mind. [Art Fair Tokyo] Thank you to everyone who visited our booth, and to the collectors who chose to live with the works. _____ Hidden Landscapes ー One Room, Two Windows : Arisa Nakabayashi, Namu Choi ー Inspired by Virginia Woolf's "A Room of One's Own" ,Presented at Art Fair Tokyo. This exhibition marks the second presentation (Vol.2) of a curatorial series inspired by Virginia Woolf’s A Room of One’s Own. In the exhibition, two female artists turn to the shared motif of the forest, each exploring a different world through her own “window.” A forest is a place where light refracts, ecosystems overlap, and unseen forms of life circulate quietly. Though a single subject, it reveals entirely different faces depending on one’s distance and point of view—a discreet and intimate world shaped by perception. The contrast between the two artists’ approaches invites viewers into a layered reading of the works, vividly demonstrating how the forest—though a universal form of nature—can transform into an intimate and deeply personal experience. The exhibition title draws from Virginia Woolf’s proposition of A Room of One’s Own, a space essential for women’s freedom of vision and creativity. As these two artists gaze upon the forest through their respective “windows,” Woolf’s ideas are brought into the present, revealing a subtle yet resonant dialogue between subject and perception.
