For the next few months, I won’t be accepting project guitars.
I currently have too many large projects in line, and they’re tying up my benches for extended periods. This is causing longer wait times for everyone - both for those waiting on big jobs and for those needing basic work like setups, wiring, minor fretwork, etc.
To keep turnaround times strong and fair for everyone, I’m going to pause taking on new projects and builds for now.
That said, this will still be somewhat case-by-case. What one person considers a “project” might not be, and vice versa. We can always sort that out when you message me or when I see the guitar.
I truly appreciate every single one of you and all the work you’ve trusted me with. Once I get caught up, I’ll start slowly opening back up to larger jobs again. For now, I’m focusing on the basics.

Moving on to the second @chibson_usa of the night, and yet another @acefrehleyofficial model. These are pretty popular, apparently. I’ve worked on a good number of them. I’m gutting the pickups on this one and loading it up with a trio of @dimarzioinc , and getting rid of the cheap tuners for a good set of @grovertuners . Final setup will be with @daddarioandco 9-42s in standard tuning.

TGIF, friends. I hope you all had a good week. I finished up that Martin project this morning, and then moved on to these two oldies. A beautiful 1966 @fender Strat here for a setup, and a @gibsonguitar SG getting a headstock repair. No finish work was requested on this one to keep the project affordable. I think adding a little bit of first position wear to the back of the neck might look cool to blend the repair in. I’ll run it by the customer first, of course.
Please note that I will not be in the shop at all next week. I always work from home on Mondays, and this Tuesday I have a doctor’s appointment, followed by my next scope/biopsy on Wednesday. I’ll be taking off Thursday and Friday to recover. Please keep me in your prayers. 🙏🏻

Another busy day at the shop. Started off easy with a post-tour maintenance setup on a @fender Strat for my friends in @victimofdoug . Then I moved on to some heavier stuff. A neck repair and a separating back repair on a @martinguitar , an electronics repair on a @taylorguitars , and a fret level and setup on an @alvarez_guitar Yairi for my friends in @freeworldband .

A couple of Les Pauls on the bench today. First up, a Burny Les Paul copy that’s here for a headstock repair. Unfortunately, this one has had a previous headstock repair, and it broke in the same spot when shipping to its new owner in Memphis. A couple of extra steps will be needed, but the end result should be solid. I finished up the day with an @epiphone Les Paul that was here for a fret job and setup.
